Mexicana mycellium or something else?
    #24663056 - 09/27/17 02:04 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Is this Mexicana mycellium or something else? This is from a mexicana jalisco syringe that is for sure contaminated.

It doesn't look very mycellial-y to me, but I've never grown mexicana. I tried looking up 'mexicana plates' in the search engine and still couldn't quite tell. Thanks!

Also it's ......... slow. This is a whole weeks worth of growth.

That there is some bonnafied, certified Mexicana mycelium.  Slow growth is a better sign of healthy growth than super fast growth.  What temps are you incubating at?  Mexicanas like it warm.

Sweet! I think I'm probably around high 60's, maybe low 70's but I could take it up a couple of notches... Thanks for the ID and tip. How warm are we talking here? I saw some people fruiting at 75.
