I had no idea you could be so funny.

Yep, but I'm thinking they want to start colonizing. It's a one way trip.
They were talking about this recently and frankly we are very far from being able to do that.
It might be a one way trip but it won't be ending with a colony on mars.
It might end with the first interplanetary grave site though...

I think we're close to that Matt Damon movie: The Martian.

I think that we're closer to Children of Men, to be totally honest.

Anybody else, I would deem a lunatic but, this man is incredible. If anybody is going to do, he and his team can.

Their rockets have the worst record of any manufacturer, they have serious QC issues (which they're working hard to ignore), they ignore their engineers, they treat their production workers exactly the way that you'd want to if you wanted them to seriously fuck up and all they've done since those problems arose was come up with worse designs in the name of gimmicks. Pretty much everything that they do gives off the impression that they're less interested in physics and engineering than vindicating whatever hand-waving bullshit they learned in their microeconomics classes.

The truth is the Russians have the best rockets right now.

Specifically because they're using a sixty year old design, which they've spent sixty years on working out the bugs.
The comparative history of the development of the American and the Russian space programs is actually pretty interesting. Kind of helped the Russians that their entire strategic paradigm was based on the premise of the USSR being a superior artillery power.

Yep, the space race is really interesting. Russia tried to go to the moon too but America beat them. They didn't have the resources but they created better smaller rockets at the time.

95% is bad?
Developing a system which recycles the first stage is bad?
The Air Force was about to have to pay ULA (Lockheed Martin/Northrup Grumman) $422 million per launch and is now paying space-x $83 million for the same service. They could fail 3 times before it would be worth going with a competitor.
The cost of launching to the ISS using the Dragon is also significantly better than that of the Soyuz by a similar 2-3x rate.
What do you consider a gimmick? They haven't pushed any unuseful technologies. More - technologies that should've been undertaken long ago that no ones had the cajones to develop.

I know this might not be Space-X, but the hyperloop seems a little bullshit and unrealistic.

Could be, we'll see. Even if it is though - trying to develop what seems like an initially unfeasible technology can teach us a lot either way.

Yeah I dunno, he seems to have alot of the bad attributes of Tesla without the significant contributions.
