Read posts less than 10 years old. You need really high RH in the microclimate a few mm above the surface of the sub. But having 90% RH or higher in the chamber promotes oversaturation and prevents evaporation.

Evaporation from the substrate surface is a key pinning trigger. Also if you mist you need the water to evaporate off of the caps. Standing water on the caps can lead to aborts and pseudomonias contamination.

The best range is achieved by using a proper fruiting chamber and dialing it in accordingly. We dial chambers in based on how the substrate and fruits look. Some chambers have additional visual cues meaning we need to know what your chamber looks like to give the best advice. Take a pic of the chamber.

I have a 4-tier mini-greenhouse set up. with a vicks cool mist on the bottom shelf. Right now the hygrometer is reading 76%. I usually leave the zippers a bit open.

Okay so a GH is something I don't have a lot of experience with. But obviously you need to dial it back a bit because your fruits are being saturated.

read

id pay attention to what that write up talks about and ignore anything and everything about humidity.

cubes grow in open fields. full sun sometimes. not dank musty forest floors. id ditch the cool
mist and just use the humidity created by the colonizing substrates/trays but keep the tent. but leave it unzipped for air.

i had a coolmist hooked up once. for about 3 weeks. what a disaster. unplugged it and just
sat my trays in the GH and other chambers. results blew me away. you do not need a humidifier for a 4tier house.
(unless you live in the desert or other uber dry ass area) if you keep it full, it will rock out.

buy a $2 mister instead.

Thank you for that link. I read that link and also pastywhytes link on a monotub with micropore tape. I'm going to try these teks out while i continue to experiment with the GH on the side just for it's own sake.
PASTYWHHYTE, do you think I can use 3M Gentle Paper that does not explicitly say on the package "micropore tape"?

haha thank you mushboy. I've used the gentle paper before on brf jars and it was ok. I just went to walmart to buy some tubs to start monos but unfortunately they were closed for power issues or something. sooooo i guess i'll start that up tomorrow.

I'm kinda worried about the mushrooms in this tray cuz they look a little gross lol

Here's an update of the same tray. Got some growth but not too impressive. They don't look to great either

lightly layer some papertowels over the metabolites and soak it up. then toss the wet paper towels.  you have a lot of pins, get everything you can out of it.

i didnt see the second page on this thread;

you need to give those tubs WAY more fresh air.  honestly a greenhouse seems like it would be unnecessary for mushroom cultivation. they need air.

Wanted to update that today I'm starting a new Monotub the way pastywhyte does it with micropore tape. I pasteurized hoop with gypsum and vermiculite.
Also received a new humidistat to experiment with in the greenhouse. Fruited a new tray of penis envy spawned to bulk via bucket tek in greenhouse. Here are pix of the humidistat, new fruited tray and the jars I'll spawn to bulk with poo in a monotub today with the micropore tape. Thanks all for your help. Very very greatful.

humidistat worked very well after dialing it in. really saves headaches. kept it around 86% on average. Got about 3-4ozdry. That should give me quite a bit for microdosing.
