A Tale of 13 Cakes
I know I know, everyone, Leave cakes as cakes. Well sometimes, I get bored af. So i knocked up 13 BRF cakes the other day with a syringe I had just made. They are all doing pretty well. Here are some pictures of the cakes. Gonna give em a few more weeks and I'm gonna spawn 4 cakes to two monos and 5 to the third one. Gonna be good stuff.

The game plan is changing as 2 cakes suffered a horribly gruesome dimise to trich. 11 remain.
Tub 1 - Spawned a 3 cakes to 4 quarts of Hpoo. 1 day after spawning.

Looking good! Anything you see in this picture that is green is actually small little plants that sprouted. Must of been some live grain in the horses poo. Also spawned 4 more cakes to some CVG mix. Will post a picture of that tub in a few days when it is more colonized.

They are getting bigger. That shit is so neat they can grow off the walls like that. I need to dab that metabolite water up at some point... actually doing it after this post. Also, my ash accidentally fell off my smoke while I was taking the picture oops.

hey man, i love using cakes for all kinds of crazy things like slurries and such. i used to use them for bulk sometimes back in the day. i even use a method i call P2g. Where i scrape the cake into receiving grain jars kind of like g2g. cakes are great.
and great to eat at birthdays!
when you spawned them, what did you do exactly? break the cake up by hand or use a fork to break them into small pieces?
i have to say, on a personal preference,hpoo is my top substrate if it were more readily available id use it more often. its like gold.

I pasturized my Hpoo, rinsed my cakes off, grated, with a cheese grater, each cake into the tub, then a quart of hpoo, rinse repeat. then mixxed it up really good.
I can get hpoo for free all day where I live so thats the best.

When you say Hpoo, is it a 50/50 mix of manure and vermiculite? or just a pure manure substrate?

I dont really think I'm gonna buy coir anymore. Its okay and all, but I feel like mushrooms like the hpoo so much better.

Its more like 80-90% hpoo and then 10-20% verm for water retention and a bit of gypsum for preventing ph swings.

I fucking love cakes. I just got done knocking up 4 PF classic and 4 AA+, from an un used syringe I found. I know that PF has bacteria, but I used this one before with good results.

The syringe I used is one I made from one of my pesa prints. and honestly, cakes are pretty good. Not as good as grains, but shit I have so many 1/2 pint jelly jars sitting around might as well do both grains and pf tek.

and actually, recently i revived this 2014 tex clone from stem tissue in pf jars. i tried to revive it on agar with no luck. brf did the trick.

Hey fellas, have you tried to use worm castings as a nutrient source?
I have tried replacing horse poo for wc and worked just as well. The upside
Is that worm castings don't have any odour and may be
Preferable for people working indoors. Apart from that
Horse poo is very cheap.

If you're using cakes to expand, do you feel there is added benefit by letting the cake consolidate for a week, or can you just expand once it's 100% colonized?
