Hey guys on day 9 I think.. the growth is about to take off. The mycelium is starting to get that spider web (rhizo) all the jars appear healthy except some yellowish spots around the mycelium

Metabolites appearing this early are not a good sign for sure. In a couple more days you'll know more.

Damn! So is there no way to find out why this happened? I steam sterilized then I PC'd them.. nod'd in a still air box being SO anal about it. I was looking at it just now and it really just looks like vermiculite that the myc couldn't reach around so its touching the glass...  I'm probably just reaching and hoping that's all..
How long do sterilized rye bags stay useable?

I bet you won't like this answer but: 1- There is no way to know if it was you or the syringe you bought 2- You have to wait to find out if those jars are still good

Yeah its really that bad, sadly I picked up for from them before I found the shroomery a few months back got zero germination on 45 agar plates messaged them they sent three new ones as a fourth was forgotten then sent me the forgotten one and a bonus. Good customer support but of the 9 syringes I've went through roughly 25 ccs between each syringe and I've had 2 plates germinate out of probably 200 and still not even sure if one of the cultures is a cube as I'm still cleaning it before putting to grain.

Darn! I'm waiting on another syringe from them and STILL haven't received it.. probably won't either.. gotta find a new place to find a syringe.. I don't want to start agar until I actually finish a successful PF tek.
So I had a thought, could it be that having them in a location where it goes up to 81F be the reason the metabolites are there? I should also point out that where the mycelium has that rhizo look, there are no metabolites.. just where the mycelium began to grow.

You wont really smell them till theyre fully colonized. The temperature could be an issue, I had some jars put off alot of metabolites at 85 during the power outages here. One even had some primordia on it after 5 days of consolidation (pan cyan). Just birthed them today so I cant tell you how its gona go.
Only time will tell, goodluck brother!

Tons of hope. They don't look bad at all, really. Not perfect, but not bad.
Spores 101? Yeah I tried their GARBAGE syringes a couple months ago and they didn't work at all.
Their website works great but their syringes don't work.

Well you live you learn, i guess spores101 will never be getting my business again considering i never received my last order from them.. not to mention the way i paid the second time was bizarre.. they emailed the payment receipt...
I was looking at the grow logs and saw a whole bunch of PF cakes that looked that that. I just hope it was caused by temp -
Is 81 too high? it goes to 76-81 - in a glass cabinet above my computer. fingers crossed!

I wouldnt stress till you see green or smell sour stinky feet lol. Bacterial spawn just causes lower yeilds.
Grab some new syringes and start batch #2!
Then you wont have to worry about batch #1 all day. I went through all this just monthss ago haha.

doubled in the last 2 days - I think i was giving them to much light i covered the glass window with some cardboard.. but smells good as it should. After 100% colonized, wait a week and then dunk and roll! Very excited
