Casing fruiting too early - Should i eat them?
    #2464294 - 03/23/04 05:47 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

A few weeks ago i had spawned some fully colonized wbs into straw at a ratio of about 1:5. The casing tray was clear so i could check on the progress and then tape it up before fruiting. The casing colonized well untill about 50% of the straw was colonized and then ground to a halt. After two weeks of no growth, i had given up and put them under my bed untill i had a chance to dispose of them. I went to do so today and found them just covered in pins along the top and sides, but the casing is still only 50% colonized. Should i remove the casing from the trays and fruit them anyways or would the risk of contamination be too great?
