I was just curious as to which book shroomerites prefered, here are your choices.
Which of these books did you most enjoy?
You may choose only one

I was really young when I read The Giver, so I'm voting Brave New Workd because it had a larger impact on me but The Giver from what I remember would be REALLY good as well if I still had it and read it today... From what I understand it was very short though; in like 6th grade I read through it in a day and a half.

I've never read Brave New World, but I thought The Giver was, shall we say _unimpressive._ It had a decent concept, but the writing was over-emphasized to get the point across to "young adults," i.e. 10-year olds. And the ending was crap. No resolution, deus ex machina, worthless. No offense to anyone who liked the book, these are just my opinions based on impressions from almost a decade ago when I read it.

I liked Brave New World a lot.

I thought the giver was a middle school book... but either way I haven't read it.

My vote goes to Huxley for the extra depth that's in Brave New World.
