Melbourne Australia victoria bruthaaaaar. Where we have to be constantly vigilant for deadly drop bears ( similar to koalas but have a certain fondness for human hair for there nest so they scalp peeps) deadly giant spiders , 8 of the worlds deadliest snakes. Giant crocadiles but on the plus side we got 7 foot kangaroos that our youngens can ride around to get away quick from scaley situations.

lol, the Origianl Poster was asking about P. cyanescens in Victoria in British Columbia (BC).
P. cyanescens are an American / Canadian species. The vast majority of Psilocybe found in Australia are from the P. subaeroginosa group, except the introduced P. cubensis and P. semilanceata.
You just dropped yourself in a Canadian Thread.

Hmm cool. Like your info any how chief always suspected the subs up north werent indigenous. We do have a magic tree that its saps full of dmt but that's a pretty well kept secret within the aboriginal elders. Only came upon it once in my travels. Looks like earwax haha. even the name was to be not uttered unless your with the elders n that

Well im not sure my friend cause I only got the sap. But the plethora of dmt acacias in this country are normally what biochemists are looking for. The dumbarse council have attempted once to even ban the acacia ( think its formosa but my memory is very vague and most likely wrong ) from being planted and stuff in rural/urban parks n that. Its an indigenous plant mind you lol. But I have read once about a desert dwelling acacia that desalinates soil, has a part of it thats actualy nutritious, makes amazing lumber and contains in all different parts of it eg. Leaves, bark, roots, trunk, seeds. Dmt, mescaline, nicotine and thats the tip of the ice berg. This they also have attempted to make a legal fuck around to grow. The fact it desalinates soil and makes way for less tolerant plants to grow alone should be reason enough to actually spread this amazing god plant everywhere.

I've found them twice. Once in .landscaping mulch in Fernwood, once in Royal Oak. They're out there.

Bumping an old thread I found while searching.
I'm in Victoria, BC. My wife suffers frequent migraines and has tried every possible solution from theraputic (massage, acupuncture, trigger-point injection, etc) to prescription medicines (muscle relaxants to prevent the tension from triggering one, daily and acute -triptans for migraine relief, T3-like narcotics for when the pain lays her out, etc).
Because a lot of the pharmaceuticals have some nasty side effects, she's only allowed to take so many -triptans and robaxes, etc per week, and often runs out of allowable dosage before her round of migraines go away.
We've even tried some CBD-only oils and tinctures, and they've been somewhat successful at letting her continue working and living her life. Now we're looking to source some psilocybin to try some sub-threshold microdosing, to see if that can help.
Does anybody know of someone I could talk to who might be able to help us find/pick a small source of psilocybin? We're looking at less than 0.2g per week (of P. cubensis, probably less of P. semilanceata.)
I'm new into this, but I've done some research into identification of the liberty caps around here, and I'd love to get a hands on forage lesson for the fall.
We have a small amount of grassland on our property that always has deer on it, and we also know the local sheep farmer quite well. She would likely be more than happy to host some foraging on a regular basis. So maybe you'd be able to get a few more regular forage locations?
Thanks!

Pretty sure this sort of thing is against the rules.
I've heard growing cubensis for personal use isn't terribly difficult

I live in Victoria, BC. I take my 10-month old dog to the running track at Vic High frequently. She has a habit of eating random mushrooms, and I have taken her four times to the vet emergency, which is very costly, as they treat each situation as a worst-case scenario.
She was among some mushrooms that sprung up today and I don't think she had a chance to swallow anything, or even bite it, but she acts really fast sometimes.
It seems to be the same type of mushroom that grows in little patches in the grass there.
Can anyone confirm if these are lethal?
I can't afford to continue going to the vet, especially when I don't know if she even swallowed any at all. It would be nice to know that I don't have to worry about that kind of mushroom, that this park is somewhat safe. Or if I should have her on leash at all times in that area.
Signed,
A worried dog owner

It's impossible for us to tell you what they may be. Thousands of species of mushrooms out there, most aren't toxic.
Please post pictures in a separate thread and we should be able to help you.
You can train dogs not to eat random things. It's a bit of work, depending on the dog, but cheaper than vet bills. All it costs is time.

You need to be careful in Victoria. Amanita phalloides is becoming quite common to find. Once thought to be strictly tied to hornbeam it is now found to be associating with the native Garry Oak. Lots being found in the Uplands area.
Provide pics,as suggested, so we might be able to identify what it is you are actually coming across.

This is a 12 year old thread if you didn't notice...
It was bumped by an owner of a dog that eats random mushrooms.
