just use common sense...dont clean/handle/feed your lizzie then do your mushy stuff...just make sure spray lysol around the mushy stuff here and there

I imagine lizards could be helpful. Lizards need proper temperature and light. They need a pretty sterile environment... and they give you an excuse to get supplies at the pet store.

One positive, they both benefit from higher rH;

One negative, often lizards' environments [depending on their caretaker] can draw insects. 

Snakes and such will often have mites, but that shouldn't be a concern as mites are host-specific IME.

One hardcore cultivator I know avoids *houseplants*, at least ones in soil :wink:
