Mycelium outrunning trichoderma
    #24611353 - 09/07/17 11:19 AM (6 years, 5 months ago)

Hey guys, I've done some searching and haven't found much on this subject and it may be a stupid question but. I've read and understand that with any sign of contamination your only option is to scrap the contaminated project.

I've had experience with BRF cakes getting contaminated with trichoderma and being the lazy person I am I've left them to continue colonizing and found to my surprise that the mycelium continued colonizing the jar and was at 100% colonization with no signs of the trichoderma.

So I fruited these jars with little to no problems, with no signs of the trichoderma showing up again until the 4th flush.

Now I have a bunch of new jars colonizing that have been contaminated again with trichoderma due to dirty spore syringes and I'm trying to decide whether to scrap all of the jars or leave them to see if they recover, most jars have already began to colonize over the trichoderma!

trich mycelium is white the spores are grean
trich is a parasite of cubensis mycelium. cubensis mycelium never wins vs trich

rule of thumb. if you have mold in your jars, regardless of what kind it is, always toss. Some are not good for you to breathe in, you don't want to make it harder for next time either.

Thank you, time to clean out a lot of jars then.
