*This may sound like a sales pitch but I swear it's not, I think this light has a chance to play a big role in home mycology if it does what it says it does.
So I found this little puppy cruising around on Amazon. The CNLight portable UV-C/Ozone Sterilizer combo. It runs on a battery and charges with a micro USB port. Works in a range of ~2m around itself, but you can focus the effects in different ways.

This puppy opens up a whole new world of reusable plastic petri dishes and sterilization methods. Just seal it in a tote with any hard objects you want, and let it run it's 15 minute cycle. I have not tested this yet, but do plan to. I will report my findings.

I agree Gamma is the way to go, but afaik they don't make gamma machines to re-sterilize used plastic petri dishes that you can use at home. Another option is to stick it in front of the air intake on your Flow Hood, this is one of my main uses. Made sure that ozone went through the Flow Hood itself and washed over my dishes as I was pouring agar. It hopefully promises to be contam free, just don't do it while taking samples or clones or the ozone/UV could kill em.

I use it to pre and post sterilize my SAB when opening contaminated petri's, or sterilizing monotubs after cleaning.

Looks like a nifty gimmick for an infomercial marketed towards hypochondriacs
