Fungal gnats, dunking, veil breaking, picking, caps bruising for a first time grower

A few issues I've encountered during this first grow... fungal gnats are currently inhabiting all four of my fruiting chambers, so I put up fly strips and set out some wine and have had minimal success in irridicating them. After reading some forums, it seemed that dunking the substrate (which I would've done at some point anyhow) may be a good solution. The problem is, I'd like to pick the mushrooms that are growing before dunking, and I can't tell when to pick them-- they seem rather small (most are only a few inches, probably due to the gnat infestation) and I can't tell if the veil is broken or if they will continue to grow. The strain is Colombian rust, and it's not apparent to my untrained eye if the veil on these small ones has broken, though it seems like it hasn't. Should I pick them anyways, considering the fungal gnat may be doing additional [unneccessry] harm? At which point I could dunk? On top of this, some of the fruits seem to have damaged caps-- is this due to the gnats? Any help would be great... as you can tell, I'm rather lost at the moment.

Hard to gauge if you're being sarcastic or not, seeing as I'm new to this. Anyhow, do you think there's anyway to salvage what I do have?

Nah, man, when he says sickest picture, he means it... literally. Those mushrooms do not look healthy. Trash them and start over. You'll get it.
