I leave the tub unmodified. Leaves no room for unwanted visitors to ask questions... and I can still use it for storage or for an unmodified monotub grow if I want.
I use a large piece of cardboard, cut slightly larger than the lid... I put the large holes near an edge of the cardboard that corresponds with a long side. Cover the cardboard in AL foil, tape the foil in place and cut holes in AL foil.
Once completed, simply load everything onto the cardboard, invert tub, set on top of cardboard, and you're good to go!
I've found that working from the bottom of the tub has reduced contaminations significantly. Holes on the side allow for contaminants to enter while your arms push air into and across the SAB... Settling only when they are no longer affected by side-side air movements... Depending on the amount of air movement, these contains can travel from one side of the box to the other. If the holes are on the bottom of the SAB, the contams can enter, but do not travel very far... And even if they do enter, chances are that they're going to fall BELOW where my hands are working (6-10inches above the cardboard) and not directly into my sterile environments. Just my method, works for me

It's like this; Drill hole in jar, rtv in autoclavable tubing, insert stir bar and LC mix, cap, pressure cook, cool, inoculate with clean agar wedge in front of flow hood, place on constant stir, do other shit for a couple days, inoculate as much spawn as you could possibly imagine without ever exposing tons of thick LC to contams, have a beer, smile cause life is good.
Sorry for the horrible run on sentence. I've had to many beers to care. Life is good.
Peace and love, verum.

I've been conceptualizing this in my mind for years, and never done it lol!
When I first saw the picture though, I thought you somehow had it hooked up to a sprinkler system... It reminded me of something I heard about Stamets in 'Spawn Running'.

Sounds appealing and all and the idea behind it is sound and it surely works, but the whole concept has some flaws imo.
The rubber tube is gonna wear out after enough pc cycles and it'll be a hassle to peel off the silicone and glue a new tube again. You gotta pc the whole thing too, jar, tube and syringe gun, the whole contraption. Another one is, if you have many projects, not just one, you gotta build many units and that's lots of work and hours and money considering siryinge guns aren't cheap.

That's all just random clamps and shit in the background. I was just checking out my LC growth with a light and thought, "that sure is sexy" so snapped a quick picture and liked it enough to share.
