Can you recommend some Terence Mckenna recordings?
    #2460746 - 03/22/04 05:39 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I'm making a CD for a my next long drive, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any special recordings from Terence.

This is the place I'll be getting them from.

So any suggestions?

They are all good!!

The Art Bell interviews might be a good place to start (especially if you have not heard any of his lectures before)..they should give a first time listener a feel for how he presents his thoughts/ideas.

The Tree of Knowledge series is excellent. Under the Teaching Tree and Earth Trust are also very good IMHO.

But seriously..they are all more or less excellent. I think we are all very lucky these recordings are still available, since the man has passed on.

I really enjoyed the Jonathan Ott and Dennis McKenna interviews that are posted there, aswell. Terence was such an exceptional speaker though, definitely one of the only people I have found I can listen to for hours on end without getting bored.

I have the 2 of them: Angels, Aliens, and Archetypes - Marijuana and Hemp. Both are worth listening to IMO. Peace

I would start with "In Search of the Original Tree of Knowledge" that Ekomstop mentioned, he covers a lot of ground in that lecture and to me its his overall best. But like everyone says all of McKenna's talks are excellent.
The first time I ever heard him speak I was a little put off because to me he sounded just like Truman Capote. It didn't take long for me to consider McKenna one of the very best orators I've ever heard, he could really draw you in with his ideas and presentation. I wish he was still alive spinning out observations, I truly miss him.

Yeah Angel, Aliens and Archetypes are pretty cool.

But if your not used to listening lecture on mp3 it can be pretty difficult at the beginning so I suggest the Art Bell interviews also and Plant of Power, they are much more easy to begin.
