LLL, did you ever run it dry?
Yes actually...ran the fucker almost dry and it melted 3 of my SFDs to the size of 10p coins
Definitely keep an eye on water levels if you get that one and be careful about how much steam is coming off!
I've since upgraded to that 23qt presto which cost me £96 all in all shipping taxes etc included and I'm definitely glad I did, for one the peace of mind of knowing I'm always at 15 PSI (in my case 17psi cos I taped 2x10p coins to the weight), the increase in size and it seems a lot easier to control how much water (read: almost fuck all) gets lost over time.

Exactly why you should be tinkering with it until it's a sterilizer.
To tinker: attempt to repair or improve something in a casual or desultory way.
In this case, take off the weight and stem, replace with a gauge, and voila, a sterilizer. Run it with 2 liters of water, and never run dry again. There's a thread about it somewhere, but it's not about these cookers. Realize that there's a chance it doesn't work out well, it could be very dangerous even, and that your safety valve might not be suited for it. Running without a safety valve is essentially a bomb on your stove, get too much pressure, and it blows one way or the other. So if you have 2 left hands and only half a brain, definitely a no go. If you are of sound mind, handy, and know a thing or two about pressurized vessels and what PSI means, be careful and be safe.

Got my wide mouth quart mason jars finally! Total was £32.32 for 24, didn't get any customs duty or import tax to pay so it's not that expensive per jar. Tempted to give em a little test run soon!

Actually, those microwave steam bags of white rice have actually been used to grow mushies in! Not the best medium, but I bet it's the best at that price and effort input.

He was talking about "easy cook" rice, which is par boiled, but is then dried again -not those pouches of ready cooked rice. I was talking about the idea that easy cook brown rice might be wise for making BRF, esp. if only steaming the likes of PF jars, -since it has already gone through a heat cycle, so would have knock out some contams already.
this is a post I had about commercial processing of rice https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20814419

That would actually be interesting! A lot of the brown rice they sell here is already parboiled, it's actually harder to find not-parboiled brown rice.
Brown rice that isn't parboiled needs 45 mins to cook for eating purposes, right? Just checking if I even used the right rice when I used it. Always had way too many burst kernels so I stopped using it after a while.

All American Canner 15 Quart Stovetop Autoclave Sterilizer 1915X FOR SALE
This is a new AutoClave Directly from All American Canner, this was my second purchase of a AAC Auroclave the original been a US Ebay USED 1925X in June of this year , it arrived with a 3 inch crack on the base. I did contact AAC to see if it was possibly to fix but was told it was unrepairable and not unheard of due to hard floor impact
So THIS NEW 1915X was purchased directly from AAC at $334 + AFTER CHEAPEST SHIPPIING + TAX DUTY AND HANDLING .... In total £500ish I'm hoping for £285 with UK 2 UK shipping

Simple. Microscopy samples. It's true since we don't grow em out. That would be illegal.

Since when are spores illegal?
Unless you're sending them to a state where spores aren't allowed, but I think that's for the receiver to know and not for the sender, so it wouldn't get you into trouble AFAIK...
