Why is BRF such a good substrate?

What is in the BRF that the mushrooms live off? The carbohydrates?
Why do some strains need dung?

no strains of cubensis need dung.
some other species of psilocybes need a lignious (wood) substrate.
BFR is just easy for new growers, grains are far better in regards to potency and yeild.
