Summer pudding

This is a traditional english dessert and just happens to be my favorite.

The ingredients are:

  • 1 part blueberries
  • 1 part rasberries
  • 1 part blackberries
  • 1/4 part strawberries
  • bread
  • sugar
  • medium-large bowl

You can use other berries as well but those are the essentials

Take some slices of bread and cut off all the crusts. Cut it into triangles and use it to completely line your bowl making sure there are no gaps.

The amount of berries you'll need depends on the size of your bowl. You be the judge. Put them in a pot with 2 tbsp of water and about a cup of sugar. (I use mug but just add to taste.)

Cook it on a low heat and stir. Eventually it will become completely liquid. Use it to fill up the bowl  but save a tiny bit. Put more crustless bread on top (no gaps) and pour the remaining liquid over it.

Whack a plate on top of the bowl, put some cans on it to apply pressure and leave it in the fridge for 2 hours. When you get it out put the bowl upside down on a plate and hit it untill the pudding comes out.

Congratulations you made a thingy! Givve yourself a medal and eat with ice cream.

Yeah, summer pudding is a favourite of mine. Fresh berries taste so much better than frozen or tinned ones. It's traditionaly served with single pouring cream but vanilla ice cream sounds like it could work well too  :tongue:
