Well, looks like that 28g first flush (pictured below right before harvest) is all I'm taking from my first monotub (1qt spawn).

About a day after harvest I noticed an area that looked suspect, and stupidly dug it out with an iso wiped spoon. Obviously this only spread the contaminant, and now I'm assuming I should dump this in the morning rather than continue raising whatever that is, right?

It would've spread regardless, just dump it.

20 transfers in? Like... Is it improving? I think I would go back to spores at that point.

Isolated rigorous mycelium growth on an agar plate does not always guarantee large ponders or harvests

Looks like it's gonna be a good one. 3 qts millet with a 1/4inch top layer of cvg.
I usually do 2qts at 1:1 for a heavier shoebox, but this was my last few of Lucy so I opted to try straight grain with a psuedocasing. No ragrets

Today I finished dunking this big old ball of grain that turned into a cake forgotten in a closet for months. I rinsed it and put in peat out of the bag and added water and let it soak. This morning I crumbled a dash of verm with new peat to the crushed up grains.
I put them atop my psilocybe planter. Worked it really good into the ivy. Some spots I didn't cover so deeply but they need a little protection it's gonna be 100s this week, no rain or cool. A bulk went into the center areas. One spot filled a little deeper so I patched it heavier cuz I dunno what this is gonna do. So it ain't perfect and I'm not trying to be
Some of the exposed grain under the leaves is staying. It's always wet under the ivy. I was gonna wait and patch but the sun is coming. If anything isn't protected oh well.
Under all this is what I assume to be pounds of ovoid, allenii, cyan, azure mycelium. They will eat the peat and sugars should these die.
Looking at it now and what I've added, I actually hope it does sink a little haha. This year I'll be patching sinkage with mushroom tissue and alder pellets (sparingly).
Pic 1: Before.

Pic 2: applied dunked grains, peat, about half as much verm.
Pics 3 and 4 straight peat patching

Ballerina Rose flowering again.

Below:
Pic 1 - The boss.
Pic 2+3 - Some fresh new growth out the sides again. Unexpected and grains around them.
Pic 4 - It's been so warm with no rain all summer. My silverbrush is starting to blossom again. Some of its seeds fell out and one sprouted.
Pic 5 this little guy was a last minute transplant (the firewitch didn't always fill the planter).

2 to 3 weeks ago the surface was looking grim so I cleaned up dead leaves and pruned and mixed those with peat and worm castings and light peat with their poo soil and dead leaves from around the porch. Everything is doing much better and I'm glad because summer is longer and I'd have hated to seen these go in that shape to autumn.

Ecuador agar pin clone knotting up. Only 3 quarts of spawn was used, cvg. Introduced fruiting conditions on day 14 of colonization. I may have to mist, to obtain some surface droplets as it's looking a little dry. I know there's plenty of moisture in the sub, just not on the surface. Still, some good looking knots are coming in.

OLDIES BUT GOODIES
ok so this print was labeled "old print". its obvious this was taken prior to me knowing how to take proper prints. so this must have been 2000 or earlier. i revived a Sropharia print from 2003 that was 12 years old. this giant piece of foil has about 8 prints on it that are very light. there is really no telling what it is. if memory serves me right(it doesn't) then its probably pf amazonian from cakes. who knows though.

strophaira revived
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21820582/fpart/1/vc/1
and munch grew it out from the prints i took.
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23126927
i just swiped spores from a print i took in 2015 off that revived stropharia. im going to bring this one back again and print to spread the spores.
in addition, i found a 2004 print of Treasure Coast that is a very nice print. lets hope she survives.

i busted out this antiquated tool that i haven't used since these old ass prints were taken.
