Just pulled a bunch of pink buffalo and Mexicana. Had such great yields, I'm already on the 3rd generation of grains and need to start over
Tissue culture on coagulated sheep's blood agar on the way.
Lol Also a pic of some black ones from when we left town, they grew way faster than expected.great flush wasted and all black!

@Ob1, Blood agar isn't recommended for mushrooms of any kind. Have you used it before? Does it work? The best is a mix of complex sugars and starch. I've been offered blood agar by the supply shop I go to but on the bottle it says it's for bacterial culturing only.

I've heard this too but have read a couple posts from people that have used sheep's or horse blood. I have a buddy that is a lab tech at a hospital so I've been doing a few different weird things. Just experimenting though.

Yea, I have a buddy who's in biology, so we talk about agar media sometimes, and he says the same thing. They use blood agar to grow out certain types of bacteria.

any agar with meat protein in it can grow and support some human pathogens. If that happens it grows them to outrageously concentrated amounts in a few days. If a contamination appears you technically should be autoclaving your waste before throwing it away. It's probably not something to fuck with trying to keep a bad blood agar or dog food agar plate around.
Blood agar for example can support Mycobacterium Tuberculosis
