How far into colonization does this look?
    #24578917 - 08/25/17 12:48 PM (6 years, 7 months ago)

First time growing in the substrate bags from a vendor. It's been about 2 weeks since inoculation and the mycelium colonization is covering pretty much the whole bag but it's not as opaque as I usually see in others pictures. It's like all the rye has a light frost of white. How solid should it be once fully colonized? + I need to break up grain around 70% so how can I tell? I'll try to upload pics if possible

Did you ever read here anywhere that syringe to grain is pretty dirty way of doing things?
What tek are you following?
Ms syringes have bacteria and possible other spores in them.
Does it look like any mycelium you've seen on here?
Maybe it's just the pictures.
What was the name of the syringe? The variety of the spore?
Also, edit out the name of  the vendor.

Yeah I've seen some similar images. It's just that most of the colonization seems to start in one little spot then it works it's way all over that's why I posted on this forum. But there's no strange discoloration and the rye was already pre sterilized

Well, whatever it is, it's all over, so time to fruit it!
Is it solid like a cake?
Are you fruiting as a cake, or Spawning to bulk substrate like coir?

Did you make an sgfc?
Gonna do an unmodded tub?

Also, is that the only bag you did, all 10cc?

Youre gonna need to read up. There's no tek that says squirt a whole syringe into a bag o rye.

At the very least, if your gonna try that (don't) you only use a small drop, like 1 cc.

Oh ok so it looks fully colonized to you? I have to break them up and wait for it to colonize then move to bulk substrate then colonize that and then fruit. And yeah haha I only put about 1-1.5cc per bag. It is a kit from a reputable vendor. It's my first time so I just wanted to test the waters you know

Well you can open it and give it a smell before breaking it up.
That'll give you a clue.
But it looks...

              Bad.

How come you are using syringes?  The spore print is the original source of spores and you should try them. You can use rice and then transfer some decent growth to other sorts of grain and then to some substrate mix that will give you the best of all flushes of mushrooms.
If you are wanting to grow cubes , they are easy and very popular , and , a lot easier than some have claimed. They are the most widely cultivated mushroom in the world and I for one have got tons by just being careful and clean , and anybody can do the same.

Again, this is my first grow. I didn't want to have to go do an entire spore print. The syringe was just most convenient and also recommended with the substrate

I will be pretty much solid white once it has finished although sometimes a pan grow has an off white coloration.
