I figured I could share some light on this subject since I had a major 1st hand experience with this. Me and my girlfriend we're out in our "field' (more on tihs later) where we usually find a wet half pound or so. Not much, this field is heavily picked. It's broad daylight.... we have about a pound and we've been there a good hour so we decide it's time to go. We have to jump over a stream that is about 6 feet wide from all the rain that we were having and soon as I jump across I see a seminole county sheriff go right in front of us about 45 MPH. I tell my girlfriend to hurry the hell up... we get in our car (which is at the park right across from the field) and a van followed by the cop car comes into the parking lot (for the park) and he takes us out of the car.... asks what we we're doing (picking shoomss for pasgetti )....keeps us out of the car for the usually fucking hour..... makes us feel like we're going to be arrested blah blah blah.... dumps out the shrooms and said "never do this again".... that was it. We could have been charged for trespassing but he never saw us on the other side of the fence. The person in the van must have caled the cops and reported us. We got out of there just in the nick of time. We had a good pound of cubies too.
this field was across from a semi-heavily (5-10 car) park that offers mountain biking... hiking ect... It's really a wooded trail that just goes back to some more woods where there is cow shit everywhere and a farm house. It's weird b/c someone that lived at the house that *looks* like they would own the property said hello to us one day. I bet a lot of people have been here in central florida. The time we got caught was the 1st time we we're out there alone.
as long they are fresh.....

About the original post to this posting in South Carolina. Considering the immensity of the countryside of South Carolina. Where people usually drive 90 miles an hour to get through it until they get to a small town of 2 red lights and have to drive 35. Where there are acres and acres of pasture land, where someone could easily loose their way out of by getting on the wrong cow tracks. I honestly beleive the cops dont wait at cow fields. There are too many. Too much land to watch. It could be though the cops in that area are particularly bored and want to park and pork on some fried chicken near a cowfield to wait for a would be speeder to come through doing 90 to raise revenue for the poor state. Maybe some would be pickers got freaked out one day where they saw a cop porkin. Or maybe they hit that field one too many times and pissed off the farmer. But if you ever got stopped by one of those boys in blue in South Carolina you had better be up on all your P's and Q's. Yes Sir, No Sir, southern hospitality bit routines. They would make you squeel like a pig if you dont.

Tis true- Im a SC inhabitant and our 5-0's aren't at all pretty- though I never have heard of anyone getting busted by them while hunting, I do doubt that they just sit next to fields and wait all night Yeh if one field became a hot spot then maybe, for a few hours (thats what our cops do best here-sit around) but there are simply tooooooo many fields in this state for you to be worried about it I just stay away from the hunting BS and grow my own- fresh and clean

i'd just swoop one mushroom from ur place and then ur set. From that you can start ur own cakes, make some beds, and then u have your own outdoor patch where u want it. plus a lifetime of more shrooms if u keep fresh spores or syringes. Best of luck, dont get fucked!

However, cops do what they want to.
As long as the shrooms are fresh you cannot be charged in Florida.

I got arrested for having fresh mushrooms in Fl and spent a day and a night in jail but when the court date came they threw it out I didn't even have to go to court I just got a letter in the mail. Not metion that my bail was 3000 cash only and they impouned my car which cost me 200 to get it out

Well it is true that cops are lazy bastards so it probably is possible that they might just on one rainy day go to dunking dough nuts and do a "stake out" by the fields but I doubt it besides just look where they are then once you spot them all you jump the fence really quick and you're outta there with some shroom tickets to happy land

In the event you are arrested get a lawyer and bring up the case of Fiske Vs Florida. You'll have it dropped but you'll still have to go through a bunch of BS anyways if you don't hunt covertly.
-------------------- I went to st thomas and camped out ontop of the island... Despite my entire family being poor all my life, the land is priceless. I was chased by haitians in the main city charlotte amalie when my girlfriend and I got some cocaine for free in a bar and mixed it with alcohol, to form a stronger drug. With such confidence at 2am, we walked the 4-5 or so miles down to the beach where the african slaves lie like lions waiting on tourist prey. The war isen't on drugs... the war is on the causes that influence people to abuse drugs. drug-abuse is a by-product of the system and much like radioactive waste occurs from utilizing nuclear power, drug addicts with drug-problems will need to be properly disposed of, like the decaying radioactive waste produced from nuclear energy. -i2ancid

I have hunted in Florida for a while, and I have had run ins with the cops as well (once while picking on a local judges land, I had no idea haha), the worst I have had happen is a good laugh and a warning about trespassing. Here in the Gainesville/alachua county area our cops tend to be alright to be honest. I've been taken to jail for a gram of weed here too though so I guess it is hit or miss, but I was driving and smoking a fat doober that time and I can understand wanting to get me off the road. I had a mushroom the size of my face when I got caught one time, it was actually the first active mushroom I had ever found and I was ELATED, it was a damn shame to lose it to the cops haha but I was happier not to have a felony.
