I can take more pics. I thought it would be common. There are quite a few. No time to take a spore print yet

They aren't rabbit bites, they're most likely a slugs eating marks.

What I would need to know for a positive ID is a good pic from the stem, the pores, and a description of the reaction when bruised or cut (what discoloration if any, and a rough indication of how long it takes to color up)

Looks to be edible. If it's not, it'll be bitter and not poisonous.

Ok. Let's try again. These mushies are everywhere!

NE woods
All over, mostly needle covered, mossy ground
As you can see that it bruises pink/red
Pores
Spongy
Yellow to orange-ish in color

Any help is much appreciated and is a boon to my research

Cheers

Xerocomus Ferrugineus, edible, but only tasty when young and fresh.

The Polish dudes that walk about the forest here even eat them when they are bigger and nastier looking. According to them, as long as they don't have small black holes in them or other funghi or mold growing on it, or slimy bacteria, they're fine and they will eat them. So as long as  there is no spoilage or black holes from certain critters (white holes are allright, according to them), they will be safe to eat after cooking. I guess it's a matter of preference, and sometimes how hungry you are
