Building my own furniture!!! 3

I'm tired of buying shit furniture that is over priced and cheaply made! I try to build all my own shit nowadays. Here is some stuff that I have finished and in progress! First is a bed frame I had to build well because me and the ex wife split and I got my own place LMAO.

Second are some tv stands I'm making for myself and my daughter!! Still need to stain and poly them but they are looking awesome IMHO.

 More pics to come!!!

Looking nice! Concerning the bed, I wonder if it would be a good idea to allow for ventilation on the underside of the mattress. Humans loose a lot of moisture during sleep and a lot of it needs to dissipate from the mattress through the underside as well.

Man I never really thought about it... since it is one of those memory foam mattresses and almost all of the bed frames for them I have seen had solid plywood or something of that nature under them I didn't think it was an issue. And I will say this is the best mattress I've ever had. And it didn't cost an arm and a leg either. If anyone is looking for a new mattress check out the slumber solutions mattress on amazon. They range from 600 bucks and down. I got the firm because they run a little soft and this thing will put you in a coma!!! Lmao

Nice work! I hope the swastika won't be wrongly perceived by any of your guests as a Nazi symbol; I assume that you have used it here in its original symbolic meaning.
Aren't you worried about cleaning shelves & stands if they are made of fairly rough wood? In my experience, those kinds of surfaces tend to get rather dusty over time and then they are virtually impossible to clean.

They are actually fairly smooth, there's reclaimed wood that has nailholes and stuff but all the boards get a fine sanding before being used, or after being painted. It still has rough spots, but I've found vacuuming surfaces "cleaning side down" where possible, and vacuuming with a small bristle attachment where it isn't to work quite well to get dirt out. Daily coffee table wipes I just do with a wet kitchen cloth.

Sounds good I guess I'd be way too lazy to do the cleaning your way, but it sure looks great. Maybe, one day if I stop spending all my time in a darkroom with my hands in some trays of developer and fixer I'll give furniture making a try. Sure looks like something I could enjoy.
