The bottom of myjars always dry out in my incubator. This causes colonization to slow greatly towards the end.
Im using the two rubbermaid containers + fish tank heater setup.
I also have a towel at the bottom that the jars sit on, and this still doesnt help.
any advice?

Are they PF jars? If so, turn them upside down half way through colonization. This also helps draw in some fresh air.

Nobody ever seems to listen to this but if you put a pump next to he heater to stir things up the heat will come from all sides but the top rather then just the bottom.

I have a towel on top and bottom of my jars. The bottom towel distributes the heat, and the top towel helps keep the temp all around the jars even. Note if you add a top towel, you'll need to drop the settings on your heater a bit.
BTW, do your jars have any method of getting fresh O2 to the substrait. If not, check this out.
