Just seems so hilarious a policeman jumping out of a bush with a gun "you picked a mushroom".

Absolutely bizarre behaviour by the human species.

Some carry binoculars and bird books, others walk dogs and some carry surfboards.    On the top of the ridges you will see rangers with binoculars, looking for hippies.

But the average hippie can rot in jail for all i care. If they want mushrooms so bad they should grow them in a home instead of being a cheap dirty stinky hippy and picking them when you know you are not supposed to do that. Hippies just really piss me off...they wont shower yet they always have the answers to everything...they are the most lazy people on the planet as well. You ever see a hippy giving away any money to a good cause? Nope...they are like bums...any money goes to drugs.

That's terrible. AFOAF recalls being in the same park in November 16 and not running into any park rangers hiding in the bushes.  I guess the rumors are true!  stay safe out there folks.
He probably fucked up picking by a no picking sign though, or putting them in a bag.

The sad part he is thought he discovered a new species and was only taking samples...

So this guy says hippies have always been shitty? Interchangeable with scumbag bums?

Someone doesnt know their subcultures

You don't get to decide how things are just because you identify with something. Indeed, someone doesn't know. That would be you, and the other guy. Sit back and learn something, because modern hippies are based off of a bunch of racist lowlives :cookiemonster:

But it's ok because someone said "love" a few times and acted all wispy pseudo-philosophical while they rubbed on some crystals and listened to a band who thought they were retarded for going into homeless drug addiction to follow them around creepily

:loldongs:

You know what people were, back in the inception of hippiedom? Racist. You think that changes because people's ideology became about "love." Or do you get to decide what people's opinions are on everything. Read up on Rainbow gatherings, if you want a glimpse of true hippie culture.

:cookiemonster::cookiemonster:

What hippie culture is, is "let me do whatever the fuck I want." Not LSD, or love, or whatever the hell. It's people living outside society and law based on their own selfish desires. Welcome, to hippiedom.

Heres what i wonder: where do you even get this idea? That hippies stem from racism? Or maybe from bums on LSD. Well, you said it has nothing to do with drugs or love. So, there must be some source for this info.

Its a good question, what IS the basis for what we know these days as a "hippie"? I dont mean a new age 2012-2017  sort of thing, but the way we look at real hippies. To me it always seems like its pre-dated by beat era, maybe even coincides. Also it depends on what you consider a hippie to be.

For example, i totally consider Hunter S. Thompson to be a hippie. That said he loved guns, violence intrigued him, and he didnt believe it was all about love. So really i dont think its a cookie cutout that you have to fit (maybe these days, but thats not a true hippie, maybe fad-hippies). Sometimes you see hipsters trying to be hippies, sometimes you meet people who dont use the internet and just download via psilocybin

Also, im a member of a rainbow gathering group.

"Rainbow Gatherings are temporary loosely knit communities of people who congregate annually in remote forests around the world for one or more weeks at a time to enact a supposedly shared ideology of peace, harmony, freedom, and respect." - google

I literally ran into this dude on the Oregon coast this last weekend. How fucking crazy. He was obviously hunting with a group of like 4 people, picking amanita and others and one marked a few azures with a yerba mate can. I picked em lol. He was misleading us telling us to check another spot, which i dont blame, no hunter gives off spots lol. His hunting style was blatant af.

He prolly knows plenty of patches.

What happens, if it gets legalized, while you are still sitting in jail, for a drug offense.

Do they finish their sentences, or do they get a break?

When the Beatles went to San Fransisco, the were mad, because they expected the hippies, there, to be motivated, "beautiful people," who dressed-up and founded indie venues -- not like burnt-out criminals.

I have personally see the bad kind, in WA.

The redneck types were hyper-aggressive, in hippy towns, and at war with them.

People seem to be able to make encampments, well outside of civilization, but I no longer believe it's a free country. The freedoms are like when someone earns privileges in a prison.

My opinion is it's more about disrespecting and trashing the park. People come from all over because the area has significant US history and the state park showcases this through exhibits and displays. nobody wants to be amongst the throngs of youngsters crawling through the grass tearing up the landscaping and leaving trash in there wake. The park rangers/police are sworn to protect visitors and the history alike. Not saying it's cool just my  :2cents:

Some people see vandalism and other anti social behavior as a political statement. They're using some label as an excuse to act out their criminal energies.

I think, some cowboy, doing this to a polite and attentive person, is no better than the subversive.

In WA, they were treating these people like unwanted tourists or gypsies.

Shouldnt be such a big deal if youre a professional mushroom hunter. In America seems like mushroom hunting is inherently suspicious or something. In europe that is not the case, where my relatives are from anyway. Mushroom picking has zero link to drug use, even if psilocybes grow.

When coming across amanita muscaria, was told by a family friend (a medical doctor btw) "no no theyre not poisonous, theyll just make you delirious. we used to cook them back home"

Oregon has some great mushrooms in general from what ive read, i understand that the park rangers would not want the park trashed but those guys arent gonna miss any psilos growing. Another article just came out saying people in oregon are trying to legalize psilo...

So, you can get actually arrested in oregon for picking a fresh cube?

Seems super draconian. The local cops around me would only care if its Not coming from a forest and isnt fresh. And park rangers prolly eat cubes themselves. Def not gonna bother you about a wild mushroom. But if youre smoking bud, this is not like california :/

I do understand that the PNW is known for active mushrooms, but, thats just because its a better area for myco-growth

You're trying not to see my point.

While you were being ignored or tolerated, were you dressed in such a way as to trigger redneck, social prejudices.
