The Grateful Dead
    #2448050 - 03/18/04 04:09 PM (20 years, 1 month ago)

Anyone wanna give me some suggestions of songs to download by them?

I'm not as familiar with their music as I'd like to be.  They were a bit before my time.. but I love all sorts of similar bands like The Slip, Phish, and other jam styles.  I love older music anyway, so I'm sure I'll love GD.  I have a few songs like Ripple, Truckin', Shakedown Street(my personal fave) and the Music Never Stopped.

Any suggestions?

thanks in advance, guys..

All great. I'd HIGHLY recoment going to gdlive.com and downloading some '77 shows. THere's just something about the sound and feel of 77...it's funny, I listen to mad 70's shows--I've liked very little I've heard from the eighties, but the 90's were cool again. If you haven't heard it........go download Morning Dew from 5/8/77 disk 3 track 4.........This song shows the ultimate contrast in music. At one point the band is playing as soft as humanly possible and slowly work they're way to the most intense jam ever. It has practically brought me to tears. Sick.

I think I'm just going to keep bumping this thread until there's about 20 people who've downloaded that Morning Dew and told me it was the best thing they've ever heard. It's the SHN file so you might need this: http://home.att.net/~mkw/mkwact.html to decode to .wav for listening or burning. Listen to the whole thing or you'll miss the good stuff!

Download all of these.

It's widely considered the best show they ever played, and while that is very arguable, it's up there.
