Green spots on agar
    #24548337 - 08/12/17 04:00 PM (2 months, 7 days ago)

Hello there,
Been having issues with my agar over the last few weeks. Using pastywhites easy agar tek. I've got some already established mycelium and then a few plates I'm trying to establish mycelium onto. A few days after each transfer spots that eventually turn green on me appear I then transfer the healthy mycelium to a new dish and then the spots appear again. The spores that I'm putting to agar aren't Colonizing at all, just green spots after 4-5 days.
I've previously isolated a few cultures quite successfully, this problem is just popping up.

I don't wanna have my syringes refunded if it's my fault (as it seems it could be since my other plates are going green as well) Soo...
Im wondering if it's some contamination vector im not seeing, or has to do with my SAB work, I try to move quickly but could be doing something wrong

You may want to bleach bomb the entire work room

I do everything in the same room, SAB work and fruiting

After a while I will start to see some contams, that's when I bleach bomb, it's about every 3-5 months

Then everything is good again for a few months

My house is old and dirty

Everything is dirty, I'm probably the most dirty successful cultivator there is lol

Also, you said you move quickly... Yea.tou want to be quick but.you also must be fluid with your quickness, no jerky movements or anything, be fast but deliberate

It's actually pretty hard to grow contams if you have good basic technique.

I have opened agar plates in open air and tried to "catch" shit in the air and had no contams, shit I have coughed on agar plates and not gotten a single spec of bacteria or anything I shit you not.

Can you explain what you mean by "bleach bomb"? I am having lots of contamination problems and I think it has to do with just the general environment. I'm also in an old, dusty, musty, and draft house :undecided:
