Horse manure for bulk
    #24548813 - 08/12/17 08:08 PM (9 days, 16 hours ago)

I've seen a few recipes for using horse poo mixed with other stuff for bulk growing, why not just use strait manure?

Possible water retention aside from that not too sure. I mean you could use straight coir, so why not straight manure.

No worries,be awhile before i really have to worry about it. Just started cultivating, got some spores online but their not as potent as the ones i find in my horse pasture. Figured they grow in it naturally, should work ok

I've seen straight poo used before. The trick is pasteurizing it properly.

Yeah, poo is semi-nutritious so molds and bacteria have an easy time getting a hold on it if it's been sterilized. Gotta pasteurize so the thermophilic microbes keep the nasties away. Aged manure is what you're after. Fresh doesn't work AFAIK.

Horse manure needs no help it is 100% fine to use on its own...cow manure needs help but straw horse manure and coir can all be used as is.

I haven't done much with em yet,I'm just gettin started with cultivating, i got a bunch in a ziplock bag. I did make a half assed spore syringe and inoculated a big pile of compost (old hey and poo) we raked up from around one of our hey feeders for kicks and gigles
