outdoor/ saving old casings and so on
    #2454623 - 03/20/04 04:05 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

What I was thinking was why dont people take thier spent casings scrap off all the casing put it in a air tight bag and store it in the fridge until its warm enough to make an outdoor bed.
then spawn it to bulk
From what I have read people have had colinized casings sit in thier fridge for over 3 months take them out and fruit them
so I dont see why this wouldnt be a bad idea
any suggestions or possible improvments to this idea

Ive also thought about this, Maybe just taking old casings and spawning to possibly compost mixed with straw. Making large beds in the woods sounds good to me.

YES!!
I've been taking mine and crumbling them in a horse manure pile my wife started. it's been colonizing away for about a month now. I even brought some in and put it in a rubermaid under my bed .
Recycle those cakes, it'll get you some mush, but mosdt of all, it'll add some acheivement to your life (I just LOVE watching the little mushies grow).
These are from a small pile I spawned last summer.

I am going to use my spent cakes for a outdoor grow this year,

not much, probably 5-6 grams dry off of one very exhausted casing. it was just an experiment though, I should get a bunch more this year.
*crosses fingers*
