Water to Verm retio when sterlizing verm in microwave?
    #2454075 - 03/20/04 01:27 PM (14 years, 2 months ago)

I was about to sterilize some verm in the micro when I realized I forgot how much water to add per cup. Also, since its going in the micro, should a little bit more water be added to make up for evaporation during sterilization? If so, how much? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply Tremor, but I was hoping to get something more precise. Does 25mL or water per cup of verm sound correct?

Well, if you want it field capacity when it comes out, I recommend adding water until it's actually soupy. When it comes out it will be damn near perfect field capacity (what you want to use for casings)

There isn't anything precise about sterilizing vermiculite in a microwave. Just add water until it's completely soaked, and nuke it. Done.
