Sweet Eatyu. Time for an upgrade after this batch. What did you use for glue? Silicon? Also thanks for this tip. I fumble a lot with the lids and rings and this can prevent a ton of contamination. Just pop it open lift it slightly and drop. I like it.
I'm seeing people sell bulk lots of jar lids on ebay for cheap. do you think they are all able to go into the PC or should I stick with ball brand?

i use rtv on the pictures listed. you can use regular clear silicone. it does the job. but i find it wears out faster and i have to replace it. so rtv might be a dollar more. its worth the xtra buck to get the proper shit.
once you go plastic you never go back.

i get the ball brand at walmart for wide mouth quarts. be careful when you drill holes. they can crack. make sure to keep a constant steady speed. not too fast, not too slow.

some people say they have had them melt. ive only had one melt in 10 plus years. thats because when i washed it in the dishwasher it fell underneath the cage and sat on the heating element and melted.
these things last years and years of constant pressure cook sessions weekly. they withstand the test of time. i don't generally pc them longer than 1 hour 30 minutes with grain though. maybe others had issues at longer pc times. im not sure you would have to look into it.

My trays in my I'm unmondifemonotub seem slow but a few talk mushes i posted in earlier this week. Been lazy since its hot. Though the cake is still intact if it starts to abort ima toss it outside.

-Nu Maung cloned, check. -pan cakes dunked, check.
Now it's time to take care of the clerical side of things such as update posts, and calulate how much culture is ready to receiving grains ratio, and write it all down, have a plan, so I can come in, and in one session burn up all the culture, and receiving grains that are ready to go, then move onto the next.

Hi boogie, Noice! Oh, and I have to do some online shopping. I am in the market for a pressure washer, ride along lawn mower, wood chipper, cement mixer, and water storage tanks.

Found a few used chippers on Craigslist for between 3 & 400. I had that cement mixer a few years back. Had it for 6 months and the gears stripped out. Didn't have a nice little warranty like that though. Probably won't return to harbor freight ofr another cement mixer even with the warranty. A pressure washer, and an air compressor can be had brand new for under a hundred dollars a piece for small ones. Don't need a larger pressure washer, or air compressor. The pressure washer's main duty is going to be washing monotubs.

I just use the hose with a nozzle on jet works pretty good but a pressure washer would make it way easier ... they have an exchange policy for 15$ or something will get you a new one i believe if you have a membership with them...
Harbor frieght shit is cheap as hell as far as durability but used cement mixers are still alot and have concrete in em

I use the hose too, then a soap and water scrub, then rinse. I'v been known to, on quite a few occasions, load up the tubs, and take them to a car wash to clean. Figure the same amount of money spent on using the car wash 3 times would pay for a pressure washer. In my opinion, a small pressure washer kicking around the house would give me the best of both worlds in the galaxy of tub washing. I have some posts to update but I am getting sleepy. Probably do that in the morning before work.

Finally finished my sterilizer!!!
This is what it looks like on the outside. Haven't cleaned it up quite yet
I went with the plastic barrel cause I got it for less than 30 bucks and it should hold up just fine
Inside
The patch of rtv on the left is for my water level overflow tube that I will install tomorrow!
Plugged in for like 15 min
