BTC and BCC - if you have BTC, claim your BCC now!!! * 1
    #24532076 - 08/05/17 10:24 AM (6 years, 5 months ago)

So we just had a hard fork happen this week, and as expected if you have your BTC in a private wallet, you can access the BCC! BCC, or Bitcoin Cash, is a new cryptocoin that essentially split off from BTC in the past week. In effect, anything you had in a bitcoin wallet for the fork is now duplicated in the new BCC wallets. You will have access to the same amount of BCC that you have in BTC.

Way to access your BCC:

1. Export a copy of your private key, then immediately send all your BTC to a new address (for security purposes).

2. Download a BCC wallet like "Electron Cash" - link

3. During the wallet creation step, you want a "Standard wallet" and you want to "Use public or private keys". Add in the private key you saved in step 1.

4. The software appears bugged, as it originally connected to a BTC node by mistake. Go in to Tools->Network and deselect "Select server automatically", click on the Server tab, right-click on the server "electroncash.casharia.com" and choose "Use as server".

5. Your balance should be available now! I sent mine to another new address that I just created, as a further security step...you may or may not want to do the same.

As far as what you can do with it...some exchanges already accept BCC and you can trade it for BTC (really: its like free BTC!!).

Do you think this would be a good time to buy BBC as an investment?

No, that shit was worth like $700 twelve hours ago and only like $200 now. It's unstable as fuck, as is bitcoin in general. Everybody's switching to Monero which is the future.

Never listen to anything Trendal ever says, he deserves to feel sad ans neglected for his excessive pub bans, and recommending people use this stupid bitcoin cash.

Trendal may be right about getting free BCC and being able to convert it to more BTC though, worth looking into if you already have BTC

I think that stands for big black cock, not bitcoin or bitcoin cash. But invest where you see the action.

BCH is the preferred abbreviation, many use bcc but that is taken by another alt coin. Yes I think bch too is a good investment as is btc. Which btw is over 3280 as I speak. I was pushing bitcoin when it was back in the 300s, I'm still bullish on it and have bought more lately. Get onboard the rocket to the moon!
