The "Midnight Mycology" Thread. 8

This is a thread for those of you who, for whatever reason, get most of their Myco work done in the midnight hours. Maybe you have obligations during the day that require you to be clandestine, and use the hours when everyone sleeps to get stuff done. Maybe you're a night owl who gets ants in their pants when the sun goes down, or maybe you get restless at night, and night time is when you come up with your best ideas, or maybe you're a like me. When the inspiration hits you to do something Myco-related, you have to go right now no matter what time of day, or night it is. What Myco-related dreams, aspirations, and, or ideas are keeping you up at night?
Tonight I'm feeling like a little of the old "Midnight Mycology", so I am going to transfer all my T3 Panaeolus cultures on agar into some freshly sterilized liquid medium, as well as, make security, T1 transfers of any germination plates going in the lab. There is also a few texas cube clone LCs that need to be drawn into syringes tonight. Wish me luck. What Myco-related things are you getting into at this hour?

You know me man, I do all my work in the wee hours of the morning or dead of night
I will be doing some shiitake g2g in the next hour or so and prepping sub for spawn tomorrow!
My reasoning for being a midnight shroomer is 1 part being a night owl anyway, and 2 parts procrastination

I'm often up into the wee hours myself just here and elsewhere researching mycology and biology (but especially as it pertains to myco) in general.
Last night I found myself incredibly frustrated when I stumbled upon this thread: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23524081#23524081, and discovered that although some signigicant research had been done regarding horizontal gene transfer (they sequenced Ps. Cyan, Pan Cyan, and Gym Luteo for comparative analysis), I couldn't actually obtain the sequence data, a paper, or even watch a talk.
And yet they are claiming an insanely cool result: a plausible evolutionary explanation for the existence of psilocybin.
Perhaps science that doesn't give back to the public should be considered bullshit until it does. After all you can't falsify if you can't replicate.
Meanwhile on The Shroomery, people are actually sharing their work all the time even in the middle of the night . What does that tell you?

Nice, fellaz. Holy crap. I just stepped out of the lab. Had a good time tonight. Nocced up 9 LCs with 9 different varities including 3 different species of Copelandia culture. Got a few plates each nocced with some Ps. caerulescens, and ovoideocystidiata spores (courtesy of Mrs. love). Made 6 transfers each of 3 different species of Psilocybe (some where clone cultures), but the highlight of this session was finding an agar plate pinhead on one of my chicon Nindo plates.

I'm a night owl myself I constantly look in here to see new stuff and what not, you have ridiculous grows loaf, I can only imagine getting giants yields like yours.
My first jars finally got done colonizing the bulk and are in fruiting, currently sitting on three trays and a shoebox. I flipped a into my sgfc cause it was empty and the shoe box had loads of side pins due not lining it. Have two trays in a unmodified and just also put my first a2g transfers which were 3 jars colonized fast from 7 jars and mixed with a 50.50 coir verm bulk into another shoebox.
I ended up cracking the tray in my sgfc when I was moving the tray from the lining to a foil sheet. I filled the crack with verm and pushed the pieces together. It broke into 3 pieces but got it to heal back and have pins around the crack filled verm. I'm not sure how to to dunk it now. Just soaking it with my sprayer fine?

haha I got my username by being a nocturnal worker at heart.
I have not been as productive as you all, just PCed a batch of jars with rye grain inside.
It has been a while since I have lifted my finger towards cultivating and it feels good.

This. Procrastination and day time family stuff.
The other night I got up to pee at 3am, then decided to run plates in the pc, work some jars in the SAB, and then some transfers, back to bed at 530,and up at 630 for work lol

polyphasic sleeping?
Well for me sleep is needed and I love dreaming. I'm just over the place with my sleeping since I like being nocturnal, dreams have one of the best natural trips ever or are they just dreams??? I do believe in astral projection, I lucid dream here and there and seen premonitions of things unless I'm just priming them

LOL I to do most of my work at night, with exceptions of most PC work. I like to make my agar before work so I can make transfers some 9-10 hours later after I have gone to work. This gives them plenty of time to cool down.

I'm in an awake-state of sleep right now, but today I prepped, and sterilized 26 quart jars of WBS, spawned to bulk (non-pasteurized, hydrated soft wood mulch) 4 quarts of Ps. Azurescens into two separate, styrophoam coolers at a 10 inch deep substrate, aspired about 20 syringes of LC, went on a supplies run for casing materials, and finished construction of my greenhouse. Vegetable.

I feel a little of the ol' midnight mycology coming on tonight. I'v been vegging out most of the day, today, so I can feel the motivation welling up inside me. Today wasn't a total loss, mycologically, by any means I would say. Got some on-paper-planning, and list making done today over the beginning of my own mushroom farm.
