Free music sources

Just found a sweet one I feel the need to share:

https://soundpark.zone/

Great site for torrenting music. I found a pack of lossless vinyl rips of one of my favorite bands, gave me a huge boost for my digital vinyl collection of theirs :awesomenod:

Some uploads have little to no seeders sadly but I found a few with enough that they downloaded pretty fast.

Long live soulseek. Still the best for music downloads.

Looks interesting :strokebeard:

Sadly I end up digging for a lot of foreign albums that are only uploaded on Russian torrent sites :mad2: If they are even up...

Soulseek has provided me with the rarest finds from the net. So many audiophiles on there. You just have to have an open shared folder to download but you can usually find anything you desire there.

Go to the add-ons page for your browser and download a youtube video downloader. Then you can download anything on youtube. If you can't find a downloader for strictly mp3s then there are converter websites like youtube-mp3.org that you just put in the url then download the mp3.

I download a lot of stuff from youtube, I have a huge collection of MP3 albums thanks to youtube downloaders.

I prefer lossless audio when possible though, especially well done vinyl rips. So I get extra excited when I find a good source for them as they can be rare.

I didn't own it.  I used to pick up hot rap CDs there, that I never would have bought otherwise.  The bookstore is probably the next to go.  At least there will always be pizza.

Soulseek has the FLAC that you seek. Give it a shot. You will be surprised how in depth the selection and quality goes. The fact it's still around, free, and quality is amazing. The current version is SoulseekQT

Thanks for the suggestion, will try and remember to check it out.

I think my music search is over for now (it never really is) I was just trying to find a few Eloy albums that weren't up on youtube and I didn't have FLAC's of.

Now the one album I am looking for called Performance isn't up anywhere as far as I can tell. Maybe I should check soulseek, was considering buying it on CD

Awesome they did have performance! Even the remastered version with 3 bonus live songs :greenthumb:

I shared my music library too, only part of it is on this computer but I will try and get the rest of my collection shared too before long.

Eloy-Heartbeat (Performance)

Seriously underrated album and band.

Glad I could help. Im an audiophile to the max. Have a lot of time and money invested in sound. Soulseek is like the haven of all of the peeps like you and i who dig deep and can still do P2P and now with soulseek Qt you can just right click one song and click "download folder" before you had to click each song. I find local bands from when i was 16 on there you could never find anywhere.

I like using Bandcamp to find new artists and existing artists alike.

The artists sometimes provide their music as a "name-your-price" offer where you can pay whatever you like (could be $0) and you get access to hires files like flac and other formats.

I really like this site because most bands/artists on there get the money directly to their pockets instead of a record label taking a big portion of their earnings.

example: Rei Clone

That site looks like a place to illegally download music without permission from the copyright holder.

That's immoral, dude.

How do the uploads work? I set my folder as my music library but when I check my uploads it's empty, so do I have to manually upload stuff to share it

I don't find it immoral when it's music I can't even find anywhere

I will definitely buy all the stuff I like over time, I have very little steady income currently though so I am not going to waste much on music.

Also I upload albums to youtube where they are usually monetized by the copyright holders so they earn money for ads on my videos. So it's like free advertising they profit from

If it's a waste, then you should go without the music.  Why do you think it's okay to take someone else's work without paying for it?

I send my sister rap lyrics for free.  She works in the music industry.  She says my raps are getting "real good."

For one when you pay for music most bands get a very small percentage of the money, if any. Look at cases like Jimi Hendrix where he died and his lawyer got his music rights...

Now if I buy Hendrix albums guess who gets paid? Record companies and the lawyer that screwed hendrix out of the rights to his music...

If I really like I band I will support them when I can, go see them live and buy releases I like.

Personally I don't agree with paying for art. I believe good artists should rely on the quality of their work to get fans to see them live and pay for their music.

Many bands these days release their music for free and ask for donations, I will totally support up and coming groups doing this. Those people actually deserve and need the money unlike lawyers and huge record companies.

/end rant
