This is so cool. I've always wanted to grow some combination of shrooms and green plants in a terrarium to create a nice center piece.
You've made my dream come true.

Here's an update with pics from today.
There's more than 50 pins now in the tank and 10 days since I first noticed their first emergence.
They seem to be slow in maturing though as in habitat (woodchipped garden beds) pins have appeared and dropped spores in half that time.
Has anyone who has cultivated subs also noticed slower fruit development compared to those in the wild?

That's really amazing. They're beautiful specimens.
They can take up to 2 weeks in the wild IME. It's been 10 days since you posted the first pics. Quite average timewise. Genetics and conditions play a role. You may see faster development in a subsequent flush. Growth isn't always linear and I've often noticed an acceleration in growth can occur. It's hard to tell as to the age of wild pins unless you are following them from primordial development. Looking forward to seeing what they do in few more days. Great job again

Thanks for your encouraging words Bob.
In woodchipped garden beds I've seen no pins to fully mature fruits in the space of 5 days which is why I'm worried about the slowness of my cultivated subs.

They look chunky and dark capped but seem fine.
They remind me of a patch I know in the wild that has really thick stipes and caps....they also mature slower than surrounding patches.
I suppose the mass is larger and therefore even at the same height as other types they have done more growing....
They look wicked strong btw....I know looks can be deceiving but ive a hunch on those.

You may want to lock that fish tank away until it's done fruiting.

Very, very cool grow.

I read elsewhere on here that misting directly on pins could cause them to abort so I'm going to hold off from misting for a day or two and see what happens.

If that were true every time it rained wild mushrooms would abort. Mist them as needed. I mist pins directly and have rarely seen aborts. Lack of evaporation due low FAE can cause aborts.

Pics from today, pins getting bigger and some look on the verge of opening up.
There's some side-pinning happening too with fruit pushing up against the glass walls of the tank.

Today is the 15th day since I first noticed the emergence of pins.
Some pics from today. The last pic shows one sub on the left with veil starting to break.
Has been a long 2 weeks.
