yes. morelman did it first with no fan. he does it a little different than i do but it works. hamloaf also. but he didn't use it as the monotub filled in the bottom. he used it as a fruiting chamber to place small trays in.

read the last page on there boogie. i put them in 3 folded until pins are 1/2 inch then change the filters to the rolling method for fruiting. morelman changed to the stuffed method during fruiting. this all works with no fan in the room. only the airflow from the hvac.
it made a huge difference making the minor adjustment by a day or two.

hey man...you still online? i have a question about some rye i recently inoculated...i live in a state that prohibits getting spores in the mail so i got a hold of a spore print and made my own syringes and inoculated 6 jars of rye berries... 2 days after i shot them up i had to go out of town and work for 6 days,,, so the jars have been in a water bath style incubator for aprox 9 days at 83 degrees F... when i got home tonight 3 of the jars were completely inhabited by a white fuzzy cotton-like substance and the other 3 jars (which were on the opposite side of the incubator) were about 40% inhabited (colonized?) i need someone to look at these pics and tell me if i have an actual colony or if it is mold or something... and. if it is legit i need to know what to do next...(i want to colonize a substrate and do mini-monotubs)
sorry to be so long winded,

That white cottony fuzzy stuff is valled mycelium haha the jars look a little bacterial but nothing to worry abouy id spawn those for sure ... stop using an incubator

ok...thank you so much...is the bacteria gonna fuck me up? or will the mycelium fight it off? why are incubators bad? so, whats my next move? i was planning on pasteurizing coir and verm and spawning to that... as i understand it i mix the mycelium and casting together in small pans and cover them until colonized, then put them in a fruiting chamber

Bacteria isn't a show stopper. You won't get optimum performance either.
Read these. This is what you do next. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24077162
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/21032606
Edit: incubators are bad because running your spawn in the 80's is old info. The high temps can actually slow down mycelial growth and encourage bacteria. Just set them on a shelf. If the room temp feels comfortable to you it's comfy for your spawn.

i read the links you gave me...i am boiling water right now... the only thing i'm not clear on is weather i should cover the coir/verm/mycileum mixture and allow it to colonize

This thread has gone places since I was away. Tonight is a midnight mycology type of night for me. Have two sleeves of plates to our, transfers to make, and a few inoculations, so I'll be around.

Oh dude, you got to label, because it's easy to lose track of this stuff as you are about to discover, haha. I am excited. I am about to make some inoculats of some rare stuff so fingers crossed we get germination, and start another bulk Galindoi grow. More on these events in few hours once tasks are completed. . Heck they could even be dirty germination, so long as there's some clean myce to transfer away from, then all will be good.

Thanks. Oh no, maybe stuff isn't taking as long as you think it is which is another pain about not labeling? I just slammed 16 ounces of cold brewed coffee. There may not be any sleep is sight tonight.
