Tissue samples from hericium and turkey tail I found today put on plates.
That's all that needed to be transferred tonight.
How sure are you on the ID of your hericium? From that pic it looks more like one of the toothed crust fungi. Maybe Steccherinum ochraceum, or Basidioradulum radula.

I'm fairly certain. The teeth on this look more like hericium than Steccherinum ochraceum or Basidioradulum radula IMO.

Not doing any myco-work myself, but wishing you the best! Can't wait until I have enough space for a drum steamer.

I'm with BC on that not being turkey tail sadly. The wild TT I've seen has always been a little more grey green and not so much brown on top

Texas Yellow Cap Cubensis.
From these genetics. This clone was revived from inner stem tissue that was cut. blended into distiled water and sucked up in a syringe. that syringe was stored since 2014. this is what it flushed today. this is coir/strawnet substrate.

It depends on your locality. It comes in all kinds of colors. In my area I commonly like to collect the deep brown ones that are fuzzy and fresh. Someday I will actually culture one when I get all these other jars out of the way. I've been sticking the mycelium bits in crevices in a log out back hoping to get lucky someday.
