Have you ever thought about tapwater?
    #2450731 - 03/19/04 06:12 AM (20 years, 14 days ago)

I mean, really thought about it. Most tapwater is just recycled bathwater, toilet bowl water, etc. That is so disgusting. Even though its been rendered "clean", I can't get over this fact. Thats what I think every time I go to a restaurant, order water, and know that their serving me a crystal glass full of toilet bowl water.

I only drink bottled spring water these days. (Thank you Ozarka!)

Over here in good old germany the regulations for tap water are stricter than for bottled water.

Tapwater here is pretty good, even if it is recycled toilet bowl water.
I drink it.

Ya gotta think that everything in this world was or will be recycled waste. Take a mushroom growing frow cow's waste, the mushrooms source of nutrients is the poo's/waste's micro organisms. You could basically say that all water in the world has at one time been piss, at one time been the ocean, at one time been from a river, at one time rained... it doesnt really matter where it comes from and how it got there, if it tastes like good old regular water and you dont get weird after drinking it its allright.

Thats an excellant point, Filthysock.  Good analogy.   Everything comes from something, in other words.  I just wish I didn't get so squeamish about these things.

Not only do the dominican potato cartels poison the purity of essence of our precious bodily fluids by putting fluoride in the water, but there is an international corporite conspiricy to weaken our resolve by depriving us of Iodine!!!!!!!

It's not like they just dump the recycled water right back into the city water supply...

When the clean water leaves the treatment plants, it is usually fed into rivers or streams that are not used to gather feed water from.

The city I live in gets its water from the bottom of Lake Huron...but the treatment plants all discharge into the Thames River.

On the other hand, all water is recycled at some point or another. At any rate, the water leaving a treatment plant has less impurities in it than tapwater does because they throw chemicals into the tapwater but actively try to keep chemicals out of treatment plant discharge water
