really? where can i read about that? i had few tubs with panaeolus(sterilization) and its never gave me a lot of mushrooms, and i been wondering why?
i been expecting
and always got something like this
with really looking good mycelium during the incubation.
do you think the reason is in the sterilization?

When you sterilize hpoo it kills all the goid bacteria that helps fighg off other stuff that will fuck your grows up..

Your issue is bad surface conditions or conditions period ... you can have really shitty grows or really great depending on conditions

thats explains a lot, thanx. What if i add some pasteurized  hpoo to the monotob which already started to give a little harvest??
and aslo,do you guys think, that the reason of all my (5 tubes) of cubenisis, which I prepared with coco fiber-hpoo(sterilized) got green of trichoderma always after first flush, becouse I killed all good bacterias in hpoo, that why ? I thought of the coco fiber... .

Coco coir is one of the safest materials there is. But if you even mess up the temps when pasteurizing hpoo and partially sterilize it, it's guaranteed to fail.

yes i heard that that, but also heard that sometimes they add some trichaderma to the some types of coco coir, that why i thought my tubes gets always green after first flush because of coco, but most likely because of sterilization.

for pasterizare coco hpoo verm and straw,i add some not boiled water to the bucket with mix of substrate and wrap up in a blanket for few hours ? is that right ?

even coir with trich added will be killed by pasteruization or sterilization.
I use garden store coir and it usually dries up into a mass 1/2 of the original size it was 5 flushes later before ever going green.

I dont want to get made fun of for this, but before I joined the shroomery and was getting info from YouTube, I MS inoculated some small jars of popcorn.
They are close to 100%. The total volume is like a pint and a half.
What should I do with it? Mix with a little coir? Straight case? Invitro?
Its a really small amount but the mycelium is healthy.
I was thinking like a small tray with some coir.

Been out for a while. Had a few jars of oats that looked great that I shook well over two weeks ago. Fuckers still aren't recovered properly. Not even gonna spawn them.

Got to hangout with an old friend recently, and got a few great things. Massive bag of shit and a solid twelve SFDS, and I have five more that someone sent me. So I made new lids and now have 18 great uncut filter lids.

Problem is I can't get anything to grow consistent for shit. It's not fun anymore. I used to have a blast, really enjoyed it. But constant failure, buying this and that, all to get nothing. It sucks. I have 50lbs of oats, but am told by a very reliable old friend that oats harbor a lot of bacteria. Mentioned feed wheat and rye being top of the line. Trying to locate those. I don't mind to pay a pretty penny, as he said, if an onion turns into x, and you only spend a few bucks total per tub, what's a handful of change really gonna save you vs having the best stuff to work with.

Also, wasn't a fan of pasty plates, which I understand too.

Trying so hard to fire something back up, but I just don't even know where to begin. I have some "clean" cultures in the fridge, but hell who knows if they're even actually clean. I can start back from spore, but that takes so long.

How is PF Tek so reliable vs bulk methods and why do we not just make huge BRF jars with good filter lids with something added to help it break up. Shells/verm or something.

How have I been working at bulk for literally over a year, and it still isn't there? I'm trying hard. Tried so hard that I'm exhausted and don't know at all how to fix the mold problems. Aside from a flowhood and Petris, I have everything one would "need" to do this.

I just don't know you guys. My wife mentioned the other day how I never get on shroomery anymore. You guys are pretty much my only "cool people" I can talk to. Love it all but what's the point to keep doing something you suck at? Typically if I focus and put my mind strongly to something, I almost always succeed. Not with this. And I so bad want to be good at this hobby. I dunno.

Thanks for reading.

Moabfighter, alot of us have been wondering where you have been and hoping that you hadn't give up. Glad to see you back on but you gotta stay motivated, you can and will succeed as you have before but you can't quit.

Starting from spores may not be a bad idea despite the time needed, and as far as a cleaner grain to try out I would suggest white millet, it is easy to prep, not too dirty to start, and the price point is in the middle of the grains that we all use, more than oats but less than some others

Keep on it bud

Hey Moab, have you tried any other subs besides coir?  If using coir, are you properly pateurizing or just bucket tek.  If not, you might try some pasteurized straw just to try another sub.

Have you considered doing a round of comparison testing between different grains? I've been doing that and what surprised me was how fast Milo(sorghum) is colonising.

If your grains are still dirty after the PC maybe you need to review your PC tek? Make notes and share em , also check out Van Hattons thread on making clean spawn and cultures he is also struggling fiercely
