I confess mad hatter,
I do a ghetto style grow with oysters but I dont pasteurize wood chips or newspaper and I spawn directly. I do a simple 1 hour warm water soak.

Tried this, with cedar mulch.... epic failure. Now I'm trying a bucket with hardwood sawdust and gold oysters since the weather is so damn hot here right now.
I confess, I made my lady do everything myco yesterday. I showed her how to take prints, and made her do it in my sab. I made her knock a cake outta the jar, rub off the dry verm, and dunk it back in the same jar. I made her spawn the shoebox im using for a battle entry in that other thread. And last night, she took one of the other cakes that finished its dunk (she dunked that one as well) I made her pour off the extra water and case it with straight verm. Those 2 cakes are hers. Completely. She did everything from mix it up, PC it, inoculate it, and now she has it into fruiting. Not to shabby.

Jkz weren't you using king oysters? I think someone mentioned they needed cooler temps. I do my blues and pearls at 75-78 degrees and they do fine.

Blues and kings. They both died horrible deaths due to anti fungals in cedar. Was a sad time. That plus the heat here in the summer, it's a no go for now. Also, I'm not running anything to lower the temp, fuck that. I'll wait til fall to run those species again. Golds like it warm, so I'm running those instead. Hoping my bucket fruits instead of rotting. Such a noob at gourmet. I'll figure it out tho.

Some days I feel like a complete failure at this hobby. My Matias Romero culture went like 4 transfers looking clean as fuck. Grains looked good, but the shit molded out bad in last 24 hours. I guess I need to really scrub my basement work space. I fucked up and got lazy and let some mold tubs sit. Mold spore explosion and now I have all the problems I was warned about. I have decided I need to basically start over from scratch starting with tossing ANYTHING contaminated and doing multiple deep scrubs.

I just need to slow down, take a step back and start at the basics, working harder on my agar work. I need to NOT spawn like 10 tubs at once until I get a real handle on this. I had to much going on at once and let shit get way out of control.

Oats fucked me for a month or so too. Started off doing great with wbs then switched it up. Only like 1 out of 5 qts was worth anything. Since I switched to pure white millet I've been very happy with the outcome

My confession: I do not want to work...Going out of my mind. It's going to be almost 95 F today..I have 2 PC's running, 25 plates to transfer to and 27 G2G's...Fuck this...AAaaaannd my 941 which I just converted to a sterilizer is being finicky so I have to go walk 100 yards each way every 15 minutes to check on it...Hit 19 PSI....Should be at 17. It has a red pressure plug at least...2 more hours of this shit and I'm bailing to the lake for some joints and a chill. Mycology is a chore sometimes.

I confess, id love to see my mono fruit how it's spawned. I put a plastic devider to keep the two clones separate, 3/4 tall and thick and 1/4 short and thick. I didn't have enough spawn to run one clone. I removed the divider when done.
