Go down to your local brewery, have a couple pints then ask for some grain. Free except the cost of your beers to break the ice.

If fungicides on our grain was an issue then we would only use high dollar grain not shit we buy with bird feathers sticks and whatever else is in it..

Youre putting waaaay too much brain power into nothing :mindexpanding:

Sigh. Too exasperated to argue with you about why what you said above makes no fucking sense. Trying to equate growing on fruity pebbles with the absorbtion of flavor versus growing on grains with fungicides is just well. If you grow shit and spray fungicides on it it inhibit fungal growth. For fucks sake.  :lordhelpus: Here watch this and try not to think too hard yourself.

I never thoughg of that i will go to mine and see what i can do thanks for the tip NC ..

Seriously blackcat you have been a pain since uve seen you around dont you think its weird youre the only one who cares about fungicides?? Get a grip show me some fucking grows then maybe you can have a place to argue ...

Who tries to grow on kamut berries or whatever the fuck they are called lmao and who dumps out spores in a syringe because they grew bunk shrooms from spores?? And on top of all that who tosses agar because of some contams on the plate ..

Hmmm lets see im going to just think realllllly hard and maybe ill get a killer isolate that pushes out 10lbs of shrooms every 66qt tub because im too lazy to do the work haha get a life youre not mrs mycology

I can understand honest mistakes and unknowingly using outdated info but blatantly ignoring modern technique and constantly insisting on arts-and-crafts style innovation despite a lack of prior success is straight up ignorant and disrespectful to all the cultivators that put effort into treating mycology like the science that it is.

True confession:
I use oats sprayed with fungicide and have horrible results

Cubes don't uptake chemicals of any sort very well. This is why tryptamines in your sub won't increase potency,
coffee in your soak water won't leave you with caffeinated cubes, and why cubes grown on weed won't get you THCUBES.
I don't know much about their absorption of fungicides, but it's likely non existent. I'd be more worried about
using it as my spawn for obvious reasons, but most wbs is fungicide free and I'm sure other grains are too unless noted
otherwise on their bags.

I've been using wbs for years and never had any issues with it not being organic. I can see wanting to go with
completely organic grain for your edibles as a marketing shtick, but also because some edible species are really good
bioremediators and actually will absorb chemicals from your sub.

So youre saying fruity pebbles wont work? But tgey have gluten in them  as black cat said about them kamuts damn i was hoping for fruity cubes...

I have never seen so much talk about fungicides on our grain in the whole year ive been here ...

Even if the crops were sprayed with them i highly doubt it affects the grain we use or plenty of old members would be saying hey stay away from such and such grain due to fungicides:spaceman:

Actually I still have that syringe. I decided to keep it and I ordered a bunch of empty sterile syringes. I dropped it on agar to see if the spores were still viable not because I actually wanted to keep that dish.  God knows what was in that dish since I didn't use any sterile tek because I didn't care if I kept the dish or not. I decided to focus on my pans and purple mystics which I have on agar waiting to go on their third transfer in the next few days. Agar work takes time. So does starting from nothing. Should I go do shitty and work and drop everything on grain early or something. I may not have them in the bin yet but it's clear that I can make sterile medium to work on so sterile grain isn't that far off from that. And if you were following along I haven't tried to put anything to grain since my last successful grow. I still have the kamut berries which I caught from the local lot store and I figured I'd either put them in stew or grow with them. :allsodisappointed:

Sorry you are all butt hurt or something. One doesn't have to fill a monotub with shrooms to understand how fungicides work and that I don't like them. It's my prerogative to eat and use food that doesn't support these farming techniques that devastate our environment. As for WBS I don't feel like picking out the seeds and sticks. So what?

The black flecks are from too much spore print falling off. Just got new tools so that won't happen again. These are just some of what I have going.

Oh yeah and um article below.

http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0111786

Also looks like I haven't been doing any work huh. Sorry but I haven't been doing arts and crafts in my cabinets anymore. Must have missed a few posts.

Oh stop it. Life happens and sometimes it happens pretty hardcore. Also I know that the  longer it takes you to send it the guiltier you feel and the more stuff you will put in it. :likeaboss: :ducklol: I haven't even gotten this stuff off of dishes yet so I'll live.

p.s. Kamut is an ancient unmodified strain of wheat. So Kamut berries = large wheat berries."They contain more proteins, lipids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals than modern wheat." And I bet you could cook up a tasty dish with mushrooms and kamut. So why would I try to grow on Kamut? I dunno. Maybe cause it's f'ing wheat.

Thats fine and dandy but obviously not a desired grain of choice just like corn ..

You can link all you want but its not going to make me or anyone else think differently... there is no point in arguing obviously since youre a woman and all ..

No problem ... I know you folks are mostly just messing with each other.
The basic point is that there are a lot of cheaper grains than Organic Kamut
- it works fine (I've tried it along with many other grains) but it is very expensive compared to WBS and unhulled oats. If BlackCat wants to try it out ... all we really need to say is there are cheaper grains that work just as well. If she want to avoid fungicides out of a concern for her health or the environment ... no problem.

I have a store a 5 minute walk from me that gets random shit in all the time. Like overstock and things close to the end of their shelf life. Occasionally I I go there a lot hoping they got stuff I need in the garden department or containers. I get all my sterilite bins there and it's easy to get the, home and not pay shipping. Plus I get all my ball jars there too. I only bought the kamut because it was 1.99 for 2 lb. bags which is damn decent for kamut. I had spelt too I was thinking of using but I ate that cause spelt is yummy. :laugh:These trays better hurry up before i eat the 7 lbs. of rye berries I just bought. I can't always afford organic foods but when I can I try to. Traditional farming kills off bees and that scares me. Bees are just as important as fungi.
