My Panaeolus Compost Heap in Tumwater
    #2448278 - 03/18/04 07:05 PM (12 years, 8 months ago)

WEll today @cro, PsillyGirl and I went a shroomin to Tumwater.

Unfortunately they just tossed the compost heaps so @cro found a single specimen of Panaeolus campanulatus. I photographed them but had a hard time focusing so they blurred.

Here is the compost heap so we know where they will be in six weeks or so.

And that was only half of the long heap. IT goes about just as far the other way or so.

Nice heap MJ, I have a few that I'm getting ready to check in the comming months. Nothing as massive as that though... It seems there are alot of wood shavings in there as well do you seem to find them as abundantly with the presence of the wood shavings??

YEs,

Once the grass starts growing they start to appear in clumps and clusters in the nook and crannies int he hay compost heaps. Those are horse manure and slomewhere we were told they also had pig manured compost.

They had mowed all the area prior to lur getting there. That large compost heap is but one tenth of the area we were at. It was all over.

This is the same place Road Kill and I went to last fall when we visited Paul Stameta at his farm.

Excepot last year we had lots of cool photos..THis time nada,

mjshroomer
