This summer i decided to try growing outside, but still in the polyfill-filtered shoebox. Just tried 1qt of Ecuador,
Results:

At first i thought an animal got in and ate a piece, and maybe so lol but. It seemed like the inside was almost entirely free of insects and the like

Thanks. Only experience I have with shrooms is hunting them here in Texas. I found my first native cube more than 35 years ago. They're pretty easy to find in North and East Texas, and ridiculously easy south of San Antonio.
Most are small and dense as hell. Read up and go hunting, it's really easy and rewarding. Good luck

Psilocybe azurescens, maybe it will fruit this season. I put a small layer of potting soil on top because the mycelium was ripping through the wood chips. Im going to have to pick up some more bark mulch and feed this bitch.
Zoom in to see the rhizmo

Beautiful! You water it very often, don't you? Otherwise the mycelium shouldn't be penetrating to the top. Can't wait to see your results.

Prepared some Wheat yesterday, what a lovely grain! A little bit more expensive than Rye, but man does it look fantastic! I'm using this jar to do a reverse transfer of some Cyanescens (I don't have any on grain anymore - except for one jar I put in the freezer = dead).

This tub of B.H.T. had a spot of green, picked them early and tossed it.

These are PE6 fruiting in a no-pour dish. The culture's from a clone already. So I threw this dish, pins and all, into a jar of oats.
