In Genesis it speaks of Cain going to the land of Nod to choose a wife. It may have been Able. Im not sure.
Who lived in the land of Nod?

It speaks of Cain (or Abel, but I believe Cain murdered him) going to another land to find a wife?
Now, I haven't read Genesis for awhile, and I can't find my Bible anywhere right now..... but wasn't Cain and Abel the first two offspring of Adam and Eve?
How did he manage to go off to another land and find a wife if Adam and Eve were the first humans and Cain and Abel were their first two sons? Peace.

That is the point I have tried to make with some of my Christian friends.
I asked a friend if he could name a religion that believes in incest, vampirism and canibilism?
He said Satinisim.
I said WRONG.
The Christian religion (if taken literaly) has to support incest. How can you start a race of people from just 1 male and 1 female without incest?
The Christians "symbolize" canibilism during communion.
The wine "symbolizes" the blood of Christ. Drink up!(vampirism)
The bread "symbolizes" the body of Christ. Have a slice! (canibilism)
My friend stuttered some BS about God only telling us bits and pieces and that God works in strange ways.
The fact is that ALL religion is just a means of CONTROL. All religion is man-made.

"christian religion" hey, the "old testament" is jewish... and islam comes from abraham (as do judaism & christianity) & the quran tells many of the same stories found in "the bible" - maybe with a different slant, ok... ~ as to resurrection stories, & theophagy, & other "mysterious" aspects of christian theology & doctrine & practice & ritual --- well, plenty other religions used to have similar stuff in 'em (but most of them sorta faded away, especially after christianity became the "official" religion of the remnants of the roman empire...) ~ and folks are gonna always have problems when they're trying to read "myth" as "history", mmmmkay? ~ ~

It was cain that murdered Abel and as far as the scriptures let us know they are are Adam and Eves first. What it does let us know is that Adam and Eve were not the only 2 humans created and that there wasn't only one God. As it would seem there was one God leader, wich told men not to worship any other God. And Adam and Eve were the only ones put into the Garden of Eden as far as im concerned. However, this topic is so controvertial and the book of Genesis is missing so much information that it would be exhausting for me to look for quotes at this time. According to Babylonian tablets the gods had tryed to create a perfect human several times and Adam was their perfect one. Their is even a tablet with a picture of a God hilding up a human on his hand that reads "The Prefect Adam", as to be celebrating the final product. So as far as im concerened Cain could have married some ugly braud somewhere in the Elohim's pile of trashed humans.

This is very true. What started as one religion (Jewish), became 3, Jewish, Christian and Islam.
The way I see it. The jewish people worship God and only God. The Christians and the Islamists have turned their back on the teachings of God. They have replaced Gods word with the word of men, i.e. Jesus and Muhamed. Both men led lives that were very spiritual, and had PROFOUND effects on the people around them.
After they lived their lives, their followers told each story to make it sound like their way was the RIGHT lifestyle to live by to get to heaven. Bypassing the word of God, and claiming their messiah(sp) was the true son of God.
This theme has been ingrained into our life. Be you Christian or Muslum....the ruling powers of each society has painted the other out to be the Devil/Satan.
Untill we as a HUMAN race can realize this, and get past the religious diffrences...we are all doomed to kill ourself.

From the link: Cain's wife: Genesis mentions that Eve gave birth to Cain and Able. Later, Cain married a woman. Skeptics often ask where the wife came from: Genesis 4:1: "And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD...." Gen 4:17: "And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch:"
"This puzzle is easily solved. At the time that Genesis was written, women were held in such low esteem that they didn't even bother to mention that Eve might have had one or more daughters. So Cain could have married his sister. Since the Mosaic Law had not been handed down at the time, this was neither sinful nor illegal."
...it's not a Christian website by any means either, so I don't think they're making excuses. This is just one explanation, though.

I heard that "Nod" means something like "wandering," so wherever Cain went, that would mean he was in the Land of Nod.
