I've seen some oat prep teks where the oats had largely slipped the husk. While that may be fine for g2g/a2g with perfect technique, it's g2g/a2g and you open a huge vector if your technique isn't on point. Eaty's prep worked great for LI/LC and Ham sold me on oats. I'm never using rye again.

I can get 50lbs of oats for like $12.50 or 40lbs of WBS for about $13. So, I don't see a need to switch to oats just for the price difference when WBS treats me so good.

Would you guys put these to grain? The growth looks clean but it's not super dense like I've had others prior to transfer. I still think I see some sectoring or perhaps they could be monos? It's a 4th transfer.

That's far, far out from being an isolate, even far from sectoring. Looks kinda ready for grains though, I'd personally keep trasnferring a bit more.

They were clearly sectors out in the previous plate so I took a sample from each side. I've never had a mono so I don't know how far to take it. I'm guessing when I have a clear single colony branched off I have to capture only that colony and nothing else. I guess I'll learn in time. I've only done like 100 plates so far. Thanks for the comments!

Bored, here are some pics. All plates are 1 transfer from spores. The black stuff is soot because I don't change blades frequently enough.
APE:

Psilocybe mexicana:

Panaelous cyanescens:
Interestingly, these grew much slower than any other species I've been working with lately, probably because my basement never gets above about 68F
Psilocybe cyanescens:

Golden Oyster:
Was a little too ambitious, I have no space to fruit this shit, I have 10 bags that look like this. GOD I WISH IT WERE CUBENSIS....
