Concerning video formats and vcd
    #2446138 - 03/18/04 05:58 AM (13 years, 3 months ago)

hi, ok ive downloadet all these movies and are burning them to cd`s in VCD standard. but i have a few question;

how do you burn .ogm movies to vcd?

why does some avi files that are i.e. 720 Mb becomes 600 Mb in VCD while this other movie thats 620 Mb becomes 715 Mb in VCD ? its a for me problem since i only have 700Mb cds
Can you fix the size of a film with any software and such?

nero uses very long time on burning a vcd , the encoding the video first part takes forever. is there anything that works faster than nero?

The reasons for the file size changing is a matter of compression. Different compression schemes can shrink things better or worse. It is kinda complicated.

As for doing the conversions, try TMPGenc. It is rather good and allows you to use wizards to get MPEG-1 for VCD or MPEG-2 for SVCD and DVD. With SVCDs, you can use Variable Bitrates to reduce the total size of the files, but still usually end up with about 45-50 minutes per disc.

TMPGenc also does some simple clip/join functions and demux/mux. If you look hard enough you can find keygens for the programs.
