Bands that have multiple albums, but only a couple songs
    #2444659 - 03/17/04 07:38 PM (20 years, 6 days ago)

You know what I mean.. every song sounds the same

The only one I can really think of that stands out the most is AC/DC

You can't deny it.. they have about 235 albums and have a grand total of about 4 original songs. All the other ones sound the same as all the other ones.

Iron Maiden comes close... but no, they had originality.. a lot of their songs were repetative, but at least in their time they have covered a pretty wide range of their style.

techno music kinda hits me that way. It's ok, but it could all be one song as far as I'm concerned.

if it all sounds like one song then that means the DJ is doing his job

I mean, yeah, there should be variety in the tracks he plays, but the whole point of having a live DJ is to keep the music going without interruption. DJs do this by mixing one track into the next track until the next DJ shows up.

but yah, I know what you mean. techno music all sounds the same until you find the style you like. then its like "good shit" and "crap".

anyway, I've noticed that people say that same thing about music that they dont get or havent develped a pallette for. My mom used to tell me that she thought all heavy metal sounded the same. I've even heard people say that about classical music.

Exactly! Any music you're not into all sounds the same, but anyone who's into it can tell you that that's far from the case.

Me and a friend of mine always joke about the structures of thier songs....they are all the same= Chrorus riff with no lyrics/verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/build up to solo by the singer yelling "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!/solo with a wah pedal/chorus/end

"mainstream metal" is not really metal at all. You're talking about the stuff they play on the radio and MTV right? Some people call it NU-Metal, but I just call it a big load of shit. They call themselves metal, when they are really like alternative poprock/rap, and play shitty music with geh singing giving metal a bad name.

Real metal is Slayer.
Death
Cannibal Corpse
Opeth
Cacophony

not disturbed, limp bizkit, puddleofcrudd and the 10million others that suck but I dont know there names.

Interesting fact about Disturbed: They were pre-conceived and created, just like the boy bands and a bunch of other groups. Before the people joined the band, a name and certain image was picked out, the music and lyrics were written, and success was already guaranteed. All they had to do was find the right people and get them in the studio and then on tour, and that's what they did. Everything was handed to them automatically. They are not musicians, they are puppets, with a record executive's arm up their ass.  :yesnod:

acca dacca pioneered heavy rock although i was only into the old acdc with bon scott,i never liked the singer who replaced him, a strained screamer imo
but yeah they were pretty much 3 chord wonders but that is what was great about it,the simplicity and loudness all in one
