That looks like half tomentose half rhizomorphic mycelium. Let it grow out a bit before doing anything with it though.

I agree with Adam, let it grow out

Did you drop a tissue culture on it? Can't make out whats in the middle, but it looks the same texture as the tomentose looking growth at top. Makes sense because even if you dropped a TC from a specimen you liked, that fruit that you are trying to clone is made up of several sets of mycelia, you have to repeatedly sector and transfer away to isolate down to one specific mycelium.

It's mycelium, but it's contaminated. Try to take quick transfers, a couple of them preferably, and after running it over a few plates, quick transferring each time, either pour hot agar over it or make a transfer and put a nice big wedge of agar on top of it. When it grows through, you should be left with clean mycelium if you pick that top growth off and transfer to a new plate.

What makes you say that Lizard how are you so confident with that picture?

I'm not disagreeing, the only thing i can see that i suspect is that the puffy circular shapes dont' appear to be connected now that i stare at it. Kind of like a few seperate puffs

see the top half? You have connected pieces there, which is good. Now the lower half, you have a crescent in the mycelium where it is a bit wet looking, or not fluffing up nicely, followed by a nice fluffing up again, that dives into the agar again more outwards to try n escape the bacteria. That's a hidden contam, and I think here is where it is becoming a meshed contam. Transfer away from the top half as soon as you can.

Looks so uniform i didn't suspect it, looks like a thin band of virgin agar.

So now that i'm thinking about it, yeah there would be no blank strips of skipped agar like that. So that tells us theres a hidden contam in that agar strip there.

And theres a good chance in a few days it will show itself, by color or otherewise?

It'll probably continue to grow in a weird fashion, going up and down on the agar, filling up the now blank spots later on, creating a concentric circle pattern.
