Help with cubensis id (picture heavy)
    #24440998 - 06/28/17 12:44 AM (3 years, 10 months ago)

Hey guys,

My friend just went hunting about an hour ago and found some mushrooms in a cow pasture.  They need help with an id though.

Habitat: mostly live oak and popcorn. growing out of either the ground or several day old cow patties.
Location: Houston
Gills:light grey to dark purplish grey depending on size.
Stem: white with very light cream hint, scruffiness at the bottom and a dark ring about 2/3 up from the veil.
Cap:sticky, white turns to gold as it nears the center where there is a "nipple".
Scent: similar to store bought but more intense.
Spore print: (after an hour) I will get my friend to send me another pic tomorrow for a more accurate print.

Bruising: turns blue.

Some of them look grey brown.  I read this could be other spores that covered them?
The two biggest:

Some smaller ones:

This one has a huge nipple:

These look like they may be too old?

This one looks covered in spores:

This is just the cap but the top somehow came off:

You found these "cubensis" growing in either the ground, cow patties, or popcorn? What?

My friend put them in a bowl covered with a paper towel and put them in his fridge.  He plans to rinse them off and eat them on Saturday.

Better dry them out or they will mold before then.

Edit: they are all Cubensis, even the one with the torn cap, I can see the bluing.
