How do you chew?

I put a bunch of leaves together then throw in a little bit of baking soda in the middle. Fold over the leaves to make a small ball then toss it in my,mouth and chew the quid. Usually it jist slowly releases alkaloids.

Do you guys think you could harvest the way they are suppose to be? Like pick all the leaves every 3 months? I imagine that would be nerve racking though. Even if you could

I cant wait for a quid of my own. Ive also been reading some pretty interestig threads about full spectrum tinctures and solid edibles that dissolve. Im gonna have a real hayday when the time comes

Yeah just like that but i use a couple spearmint rennies antiacid chewable (tastes much better than baking soda) then i chew till ive just got mush, then suck it dry chew repeat a few times then swallow the lot just washed down with a vodka and coke im hoping the basic alkaloids the antiacid and chewing extracted would enjoy being mixed with cocacola turning them back into an acid form phosphate in this case and the vodka will convert whatever joy is in the mix to cocaethyline in my belly. Whatever happens im feeling quite nice right now.

I struggle to try it just incase but i have seen all my plants lose all their leaves and still come back, currently i pick all the leaves that look unhealthy and then every other leaf on each branch.

Sounds like a solid process. I may just have to try that when theyre ready and see if i can work my way up.

Part of me thinks they would like to be stripped clean and the other part would be nervous to risk it.

Did you already mention how long before you started picking?

I never use a dome or propagator and they do fine. I only put plastic over them until the seedcoat drops off then they get dryer air. Do not mist them or keep the soil damp, it will kill them. In the desert that may be a little different. Novo does like acidic soil, i would say 5.0 to 6 roughly. Rainwater is best

Too much rain, or none at all. I have 4 buckets to catch rain and sometimes all 4 are dry. Right now I'm dumping in peroxide a couple times a week to get rid of mosquitoes. It rained for 2 weeks straight, had to mow a lot

You mean like if the soil is pretty acidic it may change the solubility of solid fertilizers like bonemeal, bloodmeal etc and if they dissolve faster than you're expecting it leeches into the soil much more burning the roots with an OD?

I'm not sure what to respond to that, but I assume that's a good explanation. But that was just an advice from some other amateur grower, but he didn't even mention what fertilizer did he use so...it's some useless information, I posted it in hopes somebody with better experience could discuss it.

Why not mist them? They like humidity, and that's a good way to give them humidity. Another tip is, check your rain water ph rates because sometimes water won't be acidic.

Sometimes it best not to overthink things. I would mist the seedcoats rather than keep in high humidity. But thats just me.

Last timw i grew from seed which are what i have now, i did mist the seed hulls so i could take them off. Sometimes mountain life is just better.

you shouldn't peel the seedcoats, they are natural protectors of the seed husk and they give it more humidity which makes germination easier, and makes the seed be more viable, these seeds are very prone to get dry and they die really quick, so you should definitely keep it humid.

and about the plant humidity, their natural conditions are proper of high humidity zones so its obvious that you should mist the plants to give them the best humidity possible so they get healthier.

Found something interesting about perlite.

http://www.powerhousehydroponics.com/benefits-of-perlite-as-a-grow-medium/

Benefits of Perlite

Because perlite is a porous substance it offers both excellent water retention and drainage capabilities – both important in hydroponic gardening. Additionally, perlite also provides proper aeration which is necessary for healthy root growth in plants.

Perlite in an inert and sterile medium which means it’s safe to use without the fear of tracking in pests, which is always the risk with soil. Perlite has a neutral pH level but will take on the acidity or alkalinity of the nutrient solution it’s placed in. Perlite can be washed and dried to be restored back to its 7.0 pH level.

While perlite is the perfect substrate to re-use by washing, it’s also a medium that will not decompose so it’s guaranteed to last for years.

In terms of plant health, perlite as a grow medium strengthens root growth and also acts as a terrific insulator to protect plants from temperature changes.

Perlite doesn't have an actually measurable pH level itself though I think, it's a mineral whereas pH is a measure in proton concentration... so what does it mean that perlite takes on the acidity of the substrate or solution? It's an empty statement chemically IMO. It's all mostly repeating the fact that it's for the most part inert

Perlite can dissolve slightly in watery solutions or dilute acid apparently.. might buffer it a tiny bit as it's alkaline in that sense but but probably not far enough to be considered significant.

You probably shouldn't pick the flesh of the berries while germinating, I agree... but after that it's a different matter as I have come to to see.

The cocaethylene mentioned earlier is an adduct: when you drink alcohol with using cocaine they form another chemical in your body that is more addictive and worse for your heart than cocaine itself.
